That was a cracking game of football in Glasgow. Brilliant goal by Commons. Brown was superb. They pushed strongly in the second half and Craig Gordon made two or three outstanding saves. A lot to work on but that was a really positive step forward.
ive been seriously mugged off and clamped there, judging by the attendance maybe he was telling them not to travel to tonight’s match
the zagreb manager pissed off a few people i see at a press conference earlier by saying he had played against before Celtic and the atmosphere was great when he was in fact referring to some occasion where he sat on a bench for Bayern Leverkusen against Rangers in the UEFA cup at Ibrox… har-de-har
4-2-3-1 with the wide attackers not offering much protection and Johansen is a headless chicken. We were very open as a result with Brown battling manfully in there but they were able to get running at him and the back four far too easily. We were pretty good going forward in the first half though and the effort and intensity was much better than in earlier games this season. We need to become more cohesive both defensively and offensively but a step in the right direction.
Only saw the last half hour and then some highlights (was giving a masterclass in @The Selfish Giant’s weekly footie game for fixie lovers).
Good result, superbly taken goal. Couple of the chances we gave up were horrific. We desperately need a holding midfielder but aside from that there were some dreadful positional decisions taken by defenders - the one where Johansen and Izzy got sucked towards the ball on the counter was most obvious, but that lad’s free header in the first half too when he got between Denayer and Ambrose and found himself in loads of space 6 yards out. Even at the end they had a chance that your man snatched at when we let the ball fall to him in the box. Our centre backs seem too far apart most of the time and we aren’t picking up runners when they come pass midfield or come in from the flanks.

Must try harder…and I mean you, not Dinamo
[QUOTE=“Gary Birtles Lovechild, post: 1026251, member: 2585”]It’s obvious that Dinamo didn’t try very hard if they couldn’t beat the pub league champions

Says the lad who follows a team in a league that even if you win it won’t get you into Europe
1 - Championship is a significantly higher standard than SPL. Don’t cod yourself into thinking that just because SPL has European spots that it is in some way superior. It’s not.
2 - What is the point in qualifying for Europe if only so you can embarrass yourselves not once or twice but three times against the champions of Poland and the football powerbase of Slovenia??
