It’s huge in Portugal i went to a venue one Saturday, packed with people, old/young men & women. The Irish would love it, only a matter of time before it hit us.
No. Very little running involved. Good fun though. Porto is a hotbed of Padel. 2 courts and talk of a third on the way. Past and future management of the irish football team play there.

Anyone ever play korfball (@flattythehurdler you’ve family playing netball i think?).
Don’t know much about it as a sport but was at a meeting yesterday when one woman said she had performed at elite level in a sport. Sure I gave her an auld Google and she’s a member of the Welsh national team for korfball.
The Benelux is the centre for this sport. Seems like the Dutch (who created it) are absolutely dominant, winning every single World Championship (10 in a row) with the Belgians the Mayo of this sport.
Is this big on the mainland?
Never heard of it. There is a netball club in knocknacarra though 
Netball used to be a thing in girls secondary schools up to about 30 years, seems completely dead in Ireland now, I’ve tried to watch it a few times but it seems like a very silly game
It’s actually quite good to watch live, but looks bad on TV. I’ve only ever seen my lass play live though, so it’s not an objective view. It’s nice watching her and her team play well. It’s fairly physical off the ball. The rules are arcane. I dont know half of them.
Concern about netball in Galway is I doubt there’s a flourishing local league.
It’s a huge sport here.

Ah it does give you a nice little workout, it will for sure get your heart rate up. Juhny is talking jazz unless he’s the second coming. It’s tremendous fun

Pickeball is the next big craze. Has yet to hit Ireland properly but will be everywhere in a few years.
Get her into basketball, there’s some good clubs in Galway, Moycullen wouldn’t be far?

Work, travel and lack of sleep from small kids pretty much meant a 12 month hiatus to the gym in 2023. The last issue is starting to resolve itself - plan to get back to it with avengence the 2nd of January.
Might throw up the odd update here to keep myself on track

Do it mate. I’ve a big year planned for myself physically. Back running, gonna do one of those quest races, the howth swim, a few triathlons.
I’ll try that. It’s very different but Irish clubs and schools have always been good at giving everyone a game.
