nearly Parkrun time, one of my favourite little traditions of the weekend
Good man. Was suffering the ill effects of a cold all week but forced myself out for a 5k last night. A hill cycle lined up this morning followed by a hill brick run. Gonna sweat that fucker out. Enjoy the Park Run @Tassotti
20 miler tomorrow as a warmup for London and Manchester, I’ve never been fitter
nice handy jog there in 24 minutes to keep me fresh for tomorrow, jesus there was this health freak woman running with her young lad there beside me the whole way, we had pacers there, she was dogging the shit out of the poor bastard, he must have been only 7 or 8, he was fucking heaving and she was driving him to keep up with the pacer, wrong wrong wrong, I nearly went ape with her, the auld fella then was up with the 23 minute pacer with probably an older son and he dropped back to start shouting at the young fella, “dig in, dig in”
I couldn’t imagine you being that tough on your own lads pal. Your one sounds like she is taking Park jogging way too seriously.
Fintan will be a great athlete when he grows up
I’ve taken to running very late at night lately, at around 11pm something stirs deep inside, its like the drums are beating somewhere, some place, calling me, summoning me, wolves are howling, a tribal feeling takes over me, its unreal running late at night
That or their husbands are coming back in from the pub.
Since I have started wining my battle with depression I wanted to share a little tip, I have incorporated something I invented for myself called the “bandage 5k” On top of my normal fitness regime, I get up at 5am every weekday for a handy 25 minute 5k jog which get my metabolism going and gets me thinking right for the day, the funny thing is after half a mile I start tearing into it, and it always ends up a 22 minute effort. Do you know that kind of way? I do be in a savage positive mood after it ready to take on whatever challenges the day has in store for me, you kind of go back to basics in your head, becoming one with the weather and your surroundings, the caveman instinct takes over, priorities change and money becomes less important, I find myself thinking a lot of up sticks and going off the grid in somewhere like Morocco, running for the rest of me life every day, running and expressing my inner self

And smoking a little brown morrocan?
Sensational post tossy. I’m going to do 100 push ups here in the aisle of the train I’m so motivated after reading it
I do 100 push ups every day, sometimes 150, my arms are like pistons and my chest is very well defined, Morocco is a great place for running
The auld free travel pass is great mate isn’t it?
Since I have started wining my battle with depression I wanted to share a little tip
Your wining could be the source of the depression too Tossy mate.
Super. It’s a little tradition of mine to go on a train trip once a week and hop out somewhere like ballybrophy and stretch the legs and have a cuppa. Great selection of books in our local library (also free to the unwaged) that train trip flys by. Highlight of the week
heading for my lunchtime session now, going to hit the power rack
