I’d say it’s a great sport for a bit of fitness as long as you’re not playing doubles. Have you been playing long TSG?

Played when i was younger then a gap if 30 years. Id be average so rallies arent normally too long but for good players it must be great for fitness.

Ah it’s OK. Can be good when you get 4 evenly matched players. Played a doubles game last year that was 3 hours long. Its shit if you are a strong player with a weak player as the other pair will just target the weak player.

It does sharpen the reflexes though

Tbf I played a good bit myself as a young lad. Great few weeks of it during Wimbledon Making your own grass courts and competitions with 20 quid for the winner

I wouldn’t be a fast jogger at all, but I smashed my PB today at the Adare Fun Run, doing the 10km in 44 mins, 25 seconds. (cc @Tassotti @Mac). My previous record was an embarrassing 48 minutes.

Happy days. I’ll be signing out of the sobriety thread tonight as I’ll treat myself to some local ales (cc @ChocolateMice)

That’s decent running, mate… were you wind assisted? Have a few for me…

Not much wind at our backs bar at the start (went out a tad quicker than I would normally but needed to get through the human traffic). Rain more or less held off.

I’d recommend you get on the L’Carnitine - 5000mg daily - to shave 11% or almost 3 minutes from your 10,000m PB

Ya and according to recent evidence a complete waste of time. Its not muscle no fascia, so its pointless.

Give your glutes and especially glute medius (side of glutes) a good going over, stretch and strengthen your hamstrings (nordics) and roll calves and you will get the desired effect

I was jogging a half there this morning (6 and a bit laps of the park) and lapped a young one at 11 miles, jesus if I didn’t look down and see that she had either been sitting on the dirt or else followed through with a rotten fart, anyway, I was flagging a bit but the sight of it repulsed me and forced me to get away from her, it must have been savage embarrassing for the poor girl when she realised it

Logged a nice morning’s training @Tassotti. 3 hours 15 mins spread between:
32km cycle with 550m elevation
18km run up and down Keeper Hill where I was battered by snow for the 2km up to the summit
Followed by a 7km spin back.
