While Eliud was making history I was doing my final long run before DCM, very easy start and close to marathon pace for second half, did the last 5k quite quick as I felt good
How’s training going @Locke or anybody else??

What time you aiming for?

Last big run tomorrow afternoon. Have done 32km already, probably around 28-30km this time round. After going for a run with a chap and being injury free, he mentioned injuries. Sure enough had problems with my feet after that! But all sorted now, bit of a cold but plenty of vitamins and resting up when I can.
Really looking forward to DCM, going to be awesome.

Im in two minds about running DCM. Only back running since start of august. Heart says yes, head says no. Only gone as far as 16 miles for long run. Will see how next week goes.

Dublin is very hilly. First half in particular is punishing. If you are on strava, join thefreekick group. I will be running much of 1st half tomorrow and you will get an idea of what lies ahead.

A thigh strain/pull scuppered me.
Took 6/7 weeks or so to get it right, only feeling fully recovered now.
I’ve added a weekly Pilates class to exercise. They are tough going
Good luck to all doing the marathon, will be spectating on the day.

I was out for a jog earlier tonight and a group of around 6 (six) 10-12 year olds ran with me / chased me for about a kilometre at one stage. I heard one of them say something like…let’s grab the earbuds out of his ears. I feared being beaten up by these primary school children so I picked up the pace to 5min/km and I also think they started to get a bit nervous the further they got away from their neighbourhood. I won’t go running in Dublin 3 again for a while.

No one is safe from these Ferrell little fuckers.

you should have given one of them an unmerciful boot up the hole and that Would have sorted them… You’re now marked as a fanny… And fannies get fucked eventually.
