A skipping rope is a great addition to a lockdown fitness regime.
I’ve plotted an 18km route out within my 2km radius. I’ll give it a try on Friday or Saturday. A few laps of it to get away from the turbo trainer.
Ok all ye fitness freaks, I have a question for ye. I have been advised by my oncologist, to put on a minimum of 2 stone before my operation. I am currently 12.5 stone.
I had to do this for the last op as well but feel I didn’t, no I know I didn’t do it correctly. I was walking around with a fucking beer belly for about a month before the op. The result being that it took me a good bit longer to loose the second stone after the op. I am reasonably fit . My question is, is there anyway of putting g this weight on without looking like rab c nesbit going g in to hospital. It’s not like I don’t have the time to get it right now.
You;re looking for a slim way to put on weight?
Weights -> Protein -> Muscle
Back in your box you.
It’s just about eating more food. An easy way to do it is buy a gainer shake like Optimum Nutrition Gainer and drink that or make smoothies with oats and protein powder and add honey or maple syrup for easy additional calories.
If you could do weight training it may mean that some of weight is muscle and not just fat and may mean you have that benefit to recover and lose weight after.
Mac is right — but it’s not all protein either - good carbs needed too. Try and double your portion of porridge in the morning ---- It would really help if you could put on the weight from muscle rather than fat from beer and take aways / shite food… but you may be caught for time? and a little bit of fatty food might be needed … when is the op?
Dunno yet kid. It was pencilled in for the end of this month but I can’t get them now on the phone. I suspect the end of may. I’m off the beer anyway so that shouldn’t be an issue.
The problem with that is that gyms probably won’t be open for the forseeable
I can get a lend of a set of weights
Surely a lad can drop him round a sledge and a tyre.
Start with a bigger bowl than usual of porridge … eat a little more with your meals but you dont have to go crazy. You also dont need to be banging weights all over the place… you can do simple body weight exercises also … like squats, lunges, push-ups etc. — i’m here with two 3 litre bottles of water and two 2 litre bottles of water for my weights … you could stick 4 litres in a backpack and do some exercises … let me know if you need any advice and we can take it to pm…
The only problem there is, with your new guns and 6 pack the mrs will be all over you and you’ll be burning too many calories in the bed room. So watch that.
I’m using the small wan as a barbell
Lift heavy weights and eat a lot.
Not easy get weights without a gym
I’m tipping away with a few push-ups every day and some squats with the young one on my shoulders. Did a 5km jog this afternoon under the magical 25 minutes @bandage. I’m fat and slow as fuck these days
I gave it a like on Strava
