The Race for a Vaccine. The Road to Demaskus

Are ye fucking retarded?

At best they’re just a sort of gimmick to fob off simpletons, at worst they’re a form of subjugation. In between they’re a cynical money making scam by your political masters. They’re as much use to the flu as a barbed wire fence is to mosquitoes.
You’d think you’d want to know that before putting one on a child.

All they are is a way to mitigate risk. For the common good. Such a shame John Bull and his gammon hoards can’t be told.

Masks are the greatest cod of 2020.

The mRNA vaccines are the 2021 version.

Both will end up being immaterial in terms of a return to normal, maori mikes of this world etc will have the last laugh

They mitigate nothing, as luke and co know. A lot of kids will be cowed by them, just as their parents were cowed…but a lot of kids will also know that their parents can’t be relied upon

As far as I know secondary school students wear them at all times indoors. Primary school don’t wear them at all

It’s nuts when you think about it.

Have they actually given a reason why we’re a few days behind everyone else?

The Germans started yesterday. The Italians, French and Spanish today.

“Training and E-learning has to be completed first”.

Israel doing 150k a day. Already 250k done

Israel, Germany, the UK and US have great experience in shooting indiscriminately so we shouldn’t really compare oursleves to them.

If Donnelly, Holohan and Reid are being honest and we now have a twin track approach to the virus they are admitting one track, lockdowns, have an immediacy and the number of lives they save are precious. €1.5bn borrowing to close half of society for 6 weeks, not a bother.

On the other hand the vaccine is different and the lives it is going to save can wait. What Reid is saying is every second counts with lockdowns and the extraordinary social, economic and psychological cost associated doesn’t matter but a bit of over time for the vaccine rollout is too big a hurdle.

Months to get this sorted but they aren’t organised with our healthcare heroes on leave. The people who catch it now and later expire were expendable. We lockdown to save the health service, we don’t administer the vaccine asap as we won’t cancel leave.

Anyway it’s all our fault for not eating Christmas dinner in our bedrooms and not putting grandad beside the window.

You’re right but our ambulance chasers will be all over the HSE if they don’t dot the Is and cross the Ts and send Bridie off to look at a few PowerPoint slides.

all the responses seem negative towards Reid

We’re finally looking likely to hit ( McConkey ejaculation level ) the 2000 cases a day by New Years.

Its mind boggling incompetence

Apparently people in the health service can’t be excepted to work st Stephens day or New Year’s Eve in Ireland.
