What the fuck would you know about anything dipstick? Take your jive elsewhere.
Hey… knock a self a pro, Slick! That gray matter backlot perform us down I take TCB-in’, man!
If he’s going to beat Diaz he has to somehow pot-shot and survive for 5 rounds against a taller, heavier opponent with better boxing, jiu-jitsu and stamina. I don’t think McGregor has the footwork to box effectively going backward against Diaz. He unloaded on him the last time and couldn’t stagger him, never mind knock him out. All this with Nate taking the fight on less than two weeks notice. Hard to make a case for him.
I watched the Diaz-Ben Henderson fight again earlier it’s well worth a watch in your spare time.Benson is the same height as McGregor and wouldn’t have half the striking prowess yet his clever game plan of using his kicks on Diaz always heavy set lead foot led to openings where he dropped Diaz at least twice in the fight with his left and right hand.I had alot of doubts of the time frame McGregor had last time regarding the jump in weight and he gassed fast due to the huge increase in his mass.Diaz is very tough and durable but if McGregor has ajusted to the weight and sets a controlled but aggressive pace he has the tools to pick his way inside and eventually get a clean shot which if he drops Diaz and swarms him expect a fast TKO call.
Didn’t RDA do that to Diaz as well? I watched both those fights and I was wondering afterwards why McGregor’s leg striking is so highly regarded? Surely if it was that good he would have employed it against Diaz?
Yeah McGregor not gassing so quickly would make a big difference alright. But the big takeaway from the first fight for me was how quickly Nate finished him once he got the upper hand. Conor had 7 minutes or so of dominance and Nate put it all to bed in the space of 2.
Have you seen the video of McGregor boxing a pro? That guy who got upset abojt it?
McGregor is shit at boxing.
The odds are actually astounding in this.
Henderson is at that size and weight a ling time. Apples and oranges.
The weight change McGregor is attempting should take around 18 months minimum. And thats fighting a few hackers as you go, which doesn’t happen in UFC.
I really think his arrogance got the better of him in the short lead up,in McGregors head all he had to do was stroll in,finish Diaz inside the first and collect his cheque.McGregor spent the two weeks prancing around the beach ducking table tennis paddles rather than putting an effective strategy in place, expect to see a more focused fighter fully prepared for the task at hand and either way respect to McGregor for going at 170 again he hasn’t lost his self belief anyway. McGregors ground game is woeful Diaz got full mount in seconds and he is a lethal finisher at submissions.
He still had to fight a naturally bigger opponent, the difference was he executed his gameplan perfectly.McGregor walks around at 175 his ideal fighting weight is 155,id expect Diaz to enter the cage at 180.
For lads on here who have been in combat sports would a beating like McGregor suffered and the quick tapping out mean the victor has a huge mental advantage the next time? Not like a field game where it is not totally about dominating a man physically.
No, we have seen plenty of quality fighters come back from devastating losses only to come back and defeat the same opponents. You can’t compare the mental grit these lads have to team sports.
You utter moron.
Completely. There is nothing as humbling as getting a hiding.
Thats why i am.piling in, along with the general mismatch. I’m mystified by McGregor being fav.
The MMA Hour goes live in about 30 seconds. Conor and Kavanagh on it today.
When is the rematch ?
Saturday night
John Kavanagh sounds like a bit of a bullshitter.
Everything seems much more low key this time around. I suppose the real action in Rio is keeping these spoofers out of the limelight.
They will need to have something big built into this week’s episode to garner some attention
