The Road to Pasadena (and various other places) Concluding in January 2014

What channel is this on gents?

ESPN.

That first game is over now. Colorado State got 18 points in last 3 minutes to win it.

It’s over, 18 points in the last 2:52 to win it. That’s fucking amazing. Buffalo V San Diego State is on ESPN @Mac.

Worth keeping an eye on Buffalo LB Khalil Mack. Many pundits have him going in the top 15 in next years draft.

That fucking smurf turf is awful. I can’t watch games on this shit, should be banned.

Yeah it’s literally an eyesore.

Oregon v Texas later tonight. Should be a good watch.

Watching the first half of the prestigious Chick-fil-A Bowl here expecting Johnny Football to sign off his college career in style. Instead I’m seeing Duke trample all over the A+M defense. The basketball team leading 35-17 at HT, amazing scenes etc.

How does the ‘bowls’ system in college football work? Are they all regional or is it based on divisions or what? Is there one ‘bowl’ more prestigious than the rest?

It’s complicated. But they’re based on divisional finishes and win loss records. For the last couple of years there has been a BCS Bowl which decides the national champion. That’s the most important and then there are some prestigious bowls like Cotton, Rose, Orange etc for other high ranked teams.

The Texas A&M V Duke game is repeated on ESPN at 1115 for those who want to see Johnny Football’s last game.

Haven’t seen the result of this. Brilliant first half. Duke have been awesome. Manziel has been good but Duke are destroying the A&M defense. And Duke just pulled off a successful onside kick in the first half with a 35-17 drive. That’s after scoring TDs on their first five drives.

Ah Manziel is something else.

I went to bed at HT:D

The Granddaddy Of Them All starting in 40 mins on ESPN.

Just tuned in to see Jeremy Langford go in from 2 yards for MSU to make it 10-7 Stanford.

Holy Jaysus

Florida State defeats Auburn 34-31 on TD from Jameis Winston to Kelvin Benjamin with 20 seconds to go. Winston drove 80 yards after getting the ball with 1:16 to go. Imposible to do this game justice in words, was as good as if not better than the Texas/USC game, due to the fact that both defenses played outstanding as well as both offenses

Auburn scored too soon. Mason should have taken a knee here on the line.

Taking a knee would have allowed for the possibility of a goal line stand from FSU, and only being able to tie the game. FSU had two timeouts left too, meaning they would have got the ball back regardless, so taking a knee would have been appalling game management from Auburn.

Oh no, the possibility of a goal line stand on a team that was churning out rushing yards.
Worked out well for them the way they did it. He takes a knee and they immediately take away one timeout. At worst assuming a common sense approach to ball possession and FG kicking they give the ball back tied with less than 30 seconds left and max 1 timeout. At best they do the same 4 points up. Appalling me bollox.
