O’Gara is considered one of the best players in the world…when playing against the supposed best team in the world who also have one of the best players in the world as a direct opponent of course O’Gara’s performance will be under the microscope…its goes with the territory …he came up short…if he had a blinder he would have been praised…thats sport …what part of this has anything to do with O’gara being from cork?
I don’t judge him on being from Cork. I’d defend Quinlan or O’ Connell in the same way, and i thought O’ Connell fucked up big style the other day.
Istarted by trying to explain why he was as crap as he was, and everyone went off o0n one about me defending him because of where he was.
Anyone watch the England game, exact same situation, Cipriani was poor as well, but so was his pack. They are very much linked.
Look he did screw balls, he did fail to find touch, he was poor, but so were at least 11 of his team mates.
Harsh on POC, he had a storming first half, sure he stayed on too long but the play had moved on when he was getting treatment on the occasion of the Nonu try so he did the best thing he could, he got up, stood in the line and done his best. Even fit Nonu would have skint him anyway. He should have gone off straight after though.
He should have gone 9-10 mins earlier, nothing to do with his performance, he was crocked, time to leave. I don’t think thats harsh at all.
I think he should have gone too instead of limping around on one leg, however my point was you said that he fucked up big style, I didnt think so, because the game was gone as soon as Nonu’s try went in. To be fair the game was gone at half time or even before due to the gameplan employed. Wouldnt blame POC for that as he done as much as he could for the 50 mins he was fit to play. I’d blame the coach for leaving him there that long, but it wasnt a reason for us losing.
No, it wasn’t the reason for loosing, but a player of his experience should have gone down and hold up the arm and said, “Get a fit man in here, i’m fucked”. Kidney was wrong, but there is no need for the hero stuff either, especially against the Blacks.
I’d be a harsh judge on OConnell, I thought there was a bit of the trying to prove how much of a main man he is, it has characterised some of his play for Ireland in the past where he tries to take on ball on his own and turns it over. Not intelligent play.

Agree wholeheartedly. He reminded me a lot of the ginger dick talking shit to boggers from Cavan on the Powerade ad on telly.
His help didn’t seem to do them much good anyway, he shouldn’t be looking to go into motivational speaking anytime soon…

lads i notice from talking to munster and leinster fans that they tend to always pick out the opposing province’s players to slate when Ireland get bet…its a real bitchy rivalry…i remember being in coppers one sunday about a year ago and this lad in a munster jersey was surrounded by about 5 fellas having a heated debate… next thing this block of a lad absolutely minced the munster lad with a headbutt sent him flying against the wall…me and my mate just stepped in break it up as he would have got massacred…i was trying to calm the leinster lad down…he just just kept saying ‘you don’t dis leinster in leinster’…
Don’t know about that, I always thought it was a fairly friendly rivalry. Its not soccer we are talking about-

no real surprises, expected murphy to get his chance…thought jennings might get the start…
Should be a very phyical game, and Flannery and Ferris should relish it. Murphy is an interesting choice as Argentina kicked everything against France and he will have a busy afternoon, but Girv was muck last saturday, and maybe Earls is still not 100% under a garyowen…
Should be good though. Presume Jennings will replace quinlan as the AN Other.
Worth noting as well the 1 Ulster player still applies. I’d much prefer a back row of Wallace, Jennings and Heaslip.
Ferris in for Best
Can’t disagree with Murphy as he’s the better kicker/fielder than Earls at the moment and Dempsey didn’t cover himself in glory.
Big chance for Ferris to shine and play his way into the starting XV. Expecting much more from the two second rows, well the whole lot of them actually now that I think about it.

I’ve seen it get heated alright, the reaction the night of the 2006 was one of the most chilish i9’ve ever seen.
You don’t dis Leinster in Leinster is hilarious. Headbutt not on though, especially in a dingy club, cowardly i’d say.
I think Ferris deserves his chance, but wouldn’t have batted an eye lid at Jennings getting in. Can’t believe DK would be swayed by the token Ulster thing.
I theory the Wallace, Jennings, Heaslip back row sounds good bt I couldn’t see it working…Wallace is a good ball carrying 7 or 8 but not a 6…Heaslip is an out and out 8 while Jennings is an openside and it has been shown countless time by countless teams that you can get away with two sixs in your back row but two sevens doesn’t work…
so all in all it is probably the right call as Wallace and Heaslip(dispite last weeks performance) have been the form back row players this season and it would have been hard to drop either…

Real Munster fans (fellahs from Limerick who follow a club aswell) absolutely hate Leinster. They would shout against Ireland rather than see Drico lift a trophy. Thats fact.
