Well done Ireland and well done the tfk rugby fraternity
Anthony Foley was smiling down from heaven last night, this was for him
This is probably the biggest Irish sporting victory in History
OK guys, what competition was that game in?
The late great sportswriter Con Houlihan brilliantly touched on the role of rugby in NZ. NZ is an isolated country that never went to war. Rugby fills that gap. When Colin Meads was sent off it represented their JFK moment . Every test match represents war . Our 32 county team were warriors on Soldiers field. What a great night.
The Orisih soccer team with a load of English lads with Irish grannies playing for them could never get even get close to getting a result like that
To be fair the result at Giants stadium in 1994 was a great result. We beat an AC Milan backed team.
Fuck off and die.
Magrath was unreal that day. what a game yesterday though. the next game now becomes the real challenge
that was only a group game with a backdoor, yesterday was test match rugby, the very pinnacle of the game, the highest standard
That wasn’t the same McGrath kid.
Soldier Field must have sounded immense when Amhran na bhFiann was blasted out?? Any links to it?
There is no other sport where a 32 County Ireland could beat the world champions and best team of all time with out and out attack. Soak up their best and then cut their throats to finish them off. Not in basketball not on soccer not in hockey.
This would be the equivalent of an Irish soccer team beating the Brazil team of 1970 5 goals to 2.
That would never happen. The 26 county soccer team live on defending for 89 minute against decent teams and hoofing it forward hoping Seamus Murphy of Doncaster rovers might get a head on it.
Yesterday was a great day for Ireland and Irish sport.
the greatest day in Irish sporting history
In fairness they wouldn’t have the background in rugby football.
After the All Ireland Senior Hurling final of 1973 of course😉
NZ did go to war you chump
We bet Germany recently mate
A friendly match
