The Rugby Thread (Part 1)

Kicking the ball away was the only thing keeping them in the game in fairness

Lenihan is an establishment company man.

Never remotely critical of Munster or Irish rugby, even after repeated failure.

Beat Italy with the all important bonus point and Ireland will be world class once more.

= So drilled on one style of play have forgotten how to play what’s in front of them.

They were looking for a lucky bounce. They got one and scored a try. They were hoping for a few more.

Jacob Stockdale has made a career out of lucky bounces. As useless a cunt as has ever laced up his boots this side of Tyrone Howe

In 2018 the likes of Joe.ie and Balls.ie were creating articles about the bright future Irish rugby had and how we would build on the Grand Slam because we had so much talent 25 years and younger. The landscape has changed completely in the intervening 3 years.

Many of those didn’t train on because they were stuck behind veterans at their province.

Half of those lads are ruled out with brain injuries now. Very sad.

Correct. Ireland are picking from 4 teams and each of those teams has a few foreigners and a few fellas in their 30s who aren’t international level anymore.

The pool of players could be down to 40-50 then. That’s very very small.

A lot of the players are well looked after college wise in the Irish system so lads are happy to wait around till their mid 20s anyway.

We badly need to bring in a rule where you can pick players from aged 27 and over from abroad and that way our pool of players would grow hugely. The likes of sexton and Murray would be out in France off the wage bill and Casey and Harry bryne would be regularly starting big games.

Typical anti Connacht bias on show there.

The provinces destroyed rubby in Ireland. Has almost wiped it out in Limerick.

The IRFU has only 4 club sides to look after. Rory McIlroy is funding one, Denis O Brien is funding the other. They’ve horsed money into Munsters white elephants in Cork and LImerick, and wont throw a penny to the poor auld fuckers beyont in Connacht.

Then they’ll horse money out to cunts like Lowe, Squaddie Burns and Schmidt.

You couldnt make it up.

They’ve reduced the game to a few schools, who supply academies and that’s it then. Madness.

As always, its all about D4.

There is an argument to be made for two Leinster teams in the Pro12/14/16/whatever name it goes by now. They are producing a plethora of players. Lads like Max Deegan winning a young world player of the year accolade but not being able to get regular game for Leinster. Likes of Conway, Moore, Carbery, Cooney etc. are all Leinster academy products.

We need to bring in the ‘Giteau Rule’.

2 lads played from whole of Munster and Connaught. 5 foreign fellas and 4 lads from a few schools within a half mile of each other in D4.

So what you’re saying is…Split Dublin in two because they are too successful. We should trial this in Gaelic Football first.

Reducing the game as Head injuries scare off mammies from letting kids play is an awful business model.

Bullshite. They need to allign their resources better, and stop buying in shite.
