The Rugby Thread (Part 1)

What did you expect with a Lions tour coming up?

Throw up the incident so I can make a judgement. Thanks

Swinging forearm to the back of a players head. Common assault on the street.

Sticking your head between a lads legs could be deemed sexual assault on the street mate so you can’t really compare.

Was there much force in the forearm ? I really need to see it i suppose

Do you think time bans are a bit antiquated, mate?

It was something that irked me with GAA until they changed it.

6 weeks for a punch seems ludicrously harsh.

Which was it lads ?

A swinging forearm or a punch

Hartley actually hard done by with 6 weeks.

Yes it knocked the player out.

Wow, that sounds bad. Deserved 6 weeks by the sounds of it

but he will actually miss 6 games, unlike dumbass GAA

I do, mate. Bans should be games not weeks.

Great to see you come into the fold, mate. Your popularity should nudge a few more posters into the rugby fraternity.

Just saw the incident on RTE News. I wouldn’t know the ins and outs of rugby disciplinary measures but 6 weeks would seem harsh to me.

Do they take into consideration his previous good behaviour - they mentioned that was only the 3rd red card of his career. Presume he’s playing a while when he’s an England international

It seems that a red card in club/provincial rugby carries through to the international set up.

I think that’s unfair

Yep you’re right actually, good point.

He’s unlikely to be able to appeal to the CCCCCC either

In isolation 6 weeks is about right. Based on his record he deserved longer. I reckon odds on he will get another red card before the end of the season

He’s only had 3 in his whole career.

3 red cards is quite a lot in Rugby pal. Vast majority of players would survive their entire career without picking one up. He’s a stupider version of joey barton

In fairness his mind is probably a rabble from concussions.

I pity him.
