Demonstrably false in what manner? Plenty of surveys say the opposite. Your survey is the only survey on the matter that counts and no other scientific trial should be introduced as evidence? As in, you just want any conflicting evidence to be false?
Was this survey based on people reporting feeling symptoms of concussion? How did they come to their conclusion?
Quite fair. But the study is the study.
It appears that womenâs necks make them more disposed to concussions make them just as disposed as boys who play more âcontactâ sports like American football.
We donât know how that will impact on women in time as female sports participation has seen an exponential increase in the last couple of decades. We arguably have a century plus on male contact sports as a hobby.
The question is why someone line @fenwaypark who says they wonât allow rugby wonât answer the question on girls playing contact sports of any ilk given the data coming out on it.
Tim, stop tagging me. You are beyond annoying.
Itâs the rugby thread tim. Not the âTimâs campaign to stop women playing sportâ thread.

@Little_Lord_Fauntleroy 9/5/23 I donât live in malahide.
Fuck. Heâs obviously been on to his besser Darragh O Brien and had a boundary moved.
Thats fair enough, I would see a good case for taking heading out of womens football in that case. It might mitigate things some way. The heading is a poor spectacle anyway.
I read the Fergus Slattery interview a few weeks ago. Tough stuff but he had an amazing life and brought a lot of happiness to people. His family can at least console themselves with that. Rugby is going to go the way of Boxing at the upper levels. I saw highlights of the AIL final there and those lads are moving like professionals. They know the score. Its sad, but theyâll have to bring in waivers from Junior Cup onward.
They sure as fuck aint going back to tackling below the waist or adding some weight limit gimmick bullshit, the people (paying public) have seen too much and wonât buy it.
There has been multiple studies with multiple methods- include reporting by trainers and also the concept of NCE with involves the study observing games to see potential concussion events.
They have also studied the aftermath of diagnosed concussions and find them more severe in females.
Iâm not sure the âriskâ warrants it to be honest.
I would just say that there are some very disingenuous barstoolers like @Juhniallio and seemingly reckless dads like @fenwaypark on the issue.
Youâre reading away on the thread and interacting silently where it suits you. Pretty simple question on female sports that you wonât answer. Again fair enough if you werenât aware but now that the facts have been brought to you I hope you apply the same level of apparent compassion.
Yes mate and given you (falsely) asserted that less kids played rugby in Ireland now because of concussions, bringing up relative concussions across the spectrum of contact sports is very relevant.
Ok to be clear. My girls can play any sport they show interest in. The exception being rugby as I have seen first hand the damage concussion does to kids.
If I have âbiasâ , I can live with it. They were at camoige tonight and had a great time.
These folks seem to think this could be a gamechanger.
Also very notable that NFL quarterbacks are beefing up their necks to mitigate concussion risk.
One for the dads coaching girls sports teams if they really are concerned about concussions.
So you have a bias- despite studies showing female soccer to be as big a risk as male high school football.
On that basis you donât actually care- and by your own standard are a hypocrite.
No surprise many are suffering in silence with the pushy dads.
Iâm assuming youâve been at the hooch tim. Or youâre a bit coked up and cant actually remember. Youâre wrong again. I didnt say that. I said it was a pity parents wouldnt let their kids play for fear of injury. Hereâs the link to the unedited post. Maybe spend a little less time on the toilet cistern mate.
Indeed. Its just a pity less and less parents are letting their kids play cos they are worried about the possibility of injuryâŚ

You stated âless and lessâ kids - and I pointed out that this wasnât factual.
Youâve been flailing away since.
Not sure why you are bringing alcohol or drugs into this, this is just a discussion that you canât keep up with. Did you spend a few hours there looking for another angle with the MND stuff after failing with concussions?
I didnt mate. I said less parents. I said me, my rugby playing mate who would love his kids to play but thinks its too dangerous. Then another poster popped in and confirmed he was of the same opinion. I used not to be of that opinion. I am now. I know many others. You can cut and dice that shit whatever way you want.
Or you can tell me rugby is safe (bizarrely) because women have weaker necks (what sort of study is that for anyone to be hanging an argument on??).
Itâs all horseshit.
Rugby is exponentially more likely to lead to brain injury than football. Its âdemonstrableâ as you like to say yourself.
)
And no, i spent a couple of hours earlier painting walls cos Juhy junior has his communion saturday. If youâd like to argue tomorrow Iâll have to do it after i finish work (in 2 seperate Gaelscoils btw) and before i go get a trestle table and a tent style thing and do a booze run. Such is life.

And you were incorrect- as discussed. Youâve been flailing since and looking for the handy like or two.

Still at it
