The Rugby World Rankings Thread

Iā€™d have had Pocock at 7 ahead of him as well. Guy was fucking immense and matching it with McCaw until he blew out his knee the 2nd time.

Think thereā€™s daylight between both them and Warburton who was the best European 7 since Betson/Back were going at it.

Pocock was a great player and unlucky with injuries.

I wouldnā€™t have thought there would be much of a gap between Pocock and Warburton. Warburton was excellent on the lions tour in 2013 and 2017. Very good in the world in 2011. He was ruined by injuries as well.

A token effort at what? Heā€™s the best rugby player Iā€™ve ever seen, he should have won world player of the year a few times. He was phenomenal.

No English player :grinning:

I was.going.to say similar as.you as the guy was outstanding. But I think the token bit comes in as Parisseā€™s decline came in after the 2011 world cup and the team named is for that decade where, while still immense, couldnā€™t pick ahead of Keiron Read.

Goys, can you post up the games with detailed analysis when Parisse was phenomenal between 2010 and 2019.

Thanks in advance.

Was he not still at or near his peak for a good few years into the decade? Take the point about performance over the time period but no doubt in my mind heā€™s superior to Read, or anyone else.

No French player either a surprise.

Is this one of those Mickey Mouse vote in things that managed to sneak past the English and the French or how was it selected?

Also, surely there must be a take of wings better than North?

A lovely dive over the line there. Heā€™d be proud of that himself.
