The Saturday/Sunday Game Thread

Lads here want pundits to go off on tangents and away from the game they are analyzing to talk about random events that happened months or years previouslyā€¦ You couldnā€™t make it up ffs

Is this the same McMahon that gouged the basketball player from Tyrone?

Months ago?

Weā€™re just saying that Pat Spillane isnā€™t a very balanced commentator.

I agree. And Iā€™m neither here nor there when it comes to Patā€¦ But rightly or wrongly he gave his view on the game he was analysing, maybe he went a tad over board by pulling up the rule in question, but it was a big talking point in that particular game and he gave his opinionā€¦ For fellow pundits to roll back and throw him under a bus to appease the Dubs is sickeningā€¦ You can pull up as many previous cases as you want, Connolly violently assaulted the linesman and spoke to him in a threatening mannerā€¦ It had to be talked about and it was. It also had to be punished, and it was. If you have a gripe, itā€™s with the law makers.

I love the way the two bullshit artists are trying to draw a parallel with any lad that ever gave an official a pat on the arm with what Dermo done :joy:
These boys are all about the letter of the law, priceless cunts

Violently assaulted.

Rules are rules

An unholy alliance has formed here like the Torys and the DUP

As with everything else thereā€™s a place for common sense too, Iā€™ve no strong opinions on the Connolly incident but itā€™s idiotic to compare with some of what the bullshit twins have tried to.

Rules are rules.

Rules are to be interpreted in a common sense manner, no rule book is going to go into every possible scenario, only an idiot wouldnā€™t see the difference between Coopers and Connollys incidents.

Rules are rules

Rules are rules.

They are to applied under the directive they give and itā€™s pretty clear that laying your hand on a referee carries a 12 week ban.

Rules are to be applied in the directive they give. The directive is very clear with regard to laying your hand on a match official, very clear, cut and dry.

One gave a match official a small shove.
The other puts his two hands on the referee.

Both offences carry a 12 week ban, the rule is very explicit on this.

You lack common sense, that doesnā€™t surprise me to be honest.

Iā€™m not the one putting forward contradictory application of the rules.

Youā€™re the one who refuses to see that common sense trumps the strict letter of the law, Iā€™d say youā€™re the type of anal lad who waits for the green man :joy:

He is more of an orange man
