That was UCCs issue for a while. Often had excellent players but couldnât do it as a team.
UL often had the same problem.
They have not been well prepared in a good while.
Far lesser football teams won Sigersons
I love when they try to disguise the bitterness by making a âseriousâ point though. The same lad has been complaining that itâs only an old friendly competition all along, now that there isnât a Cork player left itâs the benchmark
In fairness I donât think any Sigerson or Fitz teams are prepared well these days. They are lucky to have access to county players for the matches. Never mind preparation for the matches.
Most established senior county players donât really give too much of a monkeys about Sigerson.
Limerick is the Fitzgibbon stronghold youâd have to say - 3 years running the cup has been in Limerick and every chance UL make it 4 in a row.
Name 10
The entire UCC team for a start
Teams
Established?
You see its a bit of an oxymoron really.
Not that many college going players can be established. Bar the odd Con OâCallaghan they are not established at all. The sheer lack of time and age profile dictates this.
Look at the DCU team that exited there this week.
Paddy Durcan, Diarmuid OâConnor (Mayo)
Fintan Kelly (Monaghan)
Diarmuid Murtagh (Roscommon)
Stephen OâBrien (Tipp)
All established starters and key players for their respective counties.
Thatâs 4.
Durcan not established. Weâll known but not established.
And have these 4 players told you they do not give a fuck about Sigerson.
Durcan is not established? Are you insane. He was MOTM in an All Ireland final and heâs one of the best wing backs in the country.
You are an absolute headbanger of epic proportions.
1/3 of DCUâs team are established intercounty players.
He regularly does not start and only really came good last year.
Anyway have you spoke to these lads about not giving a monkeys.
I know another All Ireland winner who rates a sigerson below all ireland but above club county won.
You are just guessing above nd have no insight into this competition or how players value it.
It has got so many players onto county teams.
So what???
He regularly does start. Heâs unestablished in the same way Chris Barrett, DĂłnal Vaughan, Tom Parsons, Jason Doherty and Diarmuid OâConnor are not established as they also âregularlyâ donât start.
Yeah, 1 of those 5 doesnât give a fiddlersâ, for certain.
He must be a good age now. 29/30?
You are diverting. How do you know they do not care
