The School, College & University Competitions Thread (another thread gone west)

anyone any views as dressing her up as Dora?

It’s certainly worth exploring the idea anyway.

Any Harty Cup results filtering through yet today, gents?

When are the Young Scientist Exhibition tickets going on sale this year?

Do your employers know you have such little to be doing on their time?

Yes. Just winding down in my current position before commencing an exciting new role at the end of the month following yet another promotion.

Thrilled to announce that I’ve been asked to appear in the St Peter’s College past pupils’ magazine to discuss my exciting banking career.

Did you represent the college in football, hurling or even debating Bando?

Fuck the bankers!

I didn’t make the cut for the Blackboard Jungle team if that’s what you’re getting at, gola.

Was it Peter’s or Good Counsel that Leigh O’Brien and a big curly haired Pursell lad played for some years back?

Counsel

I was the greatest Blackboard Jungle contestant that never was. My disgraceful banning from the team by the school powers that be (I was captain too) turned me into a bitter, twisted, individual.

Will this auld arsehole ever get fucking sense, what age must he be now?

I see Mary I drew with Nuig, 18 points each, after their first outing in the Fitzgibbon in ten years. Conlan led the way as did Hannon… there’s a Michael Hyland from Laois on the squad, anything to Willie?

What stage is the Irish Times debating at does anyone know?

Don’t think so, not closely anyway, farly sure he’s a Clonaslee man.

Mass brawl mars CBC v Castletroy
Friday, February 01, 2013

By Charlie MulqueenTwo players were sent off in a Munster Senior Schools rugby match following fighting between players from CBC and Castletroy at Annacotty yesterday.

The row, which involved almost 30 players, lasted half a minute and CBC’s Devin Fitzgerald and Castletroy’s Jack O’Neill were unlucky to be picked out of the bunch and red carded.

“I was behind the posts and didn’t see what started it,” said CBC head coach Peter Melia. “Then I was watching all the bodies rushing in and joining in.

“Maybe a general warning at this age group and the importance of the competition would have been more appropriate…

“As it progressed, he could have sent 30 players off as everybody joined in. I hope empathy will be shown to lads in their final year. This could be the end of the road for them depending on the report and that would be sad for a kid who’s worked hard for six years, even though that’s not to excuse what happened.”

A last gasp goal from Declan Hannon earned Mary I a draw against UCC 1-13 -1.1-13. Dirty windy day on a shite pitch threw up a free ridden game. Mary I battled well and were three up with ten gone in the second half thanks to some beatiful long rage frees from Hannon. Just when they looked like pushing on UCC got to grips with the game, particulary through Lehane, and tacked on some nice scores . UCC missed some bad frees throughout but found themselves 3 clear going into the final stages and my report ends there…

Was Hannon centre back again?
