The schools

I’m sure the details on the online classes for tomorrow followed? Given none of them are actually sick.

Why are SF against the academic selection process in NI?

My sense was public schools were way ahead of public schools in rest of UK?

Living in Meelick and now this, some people just never get a break

How can they reopen the 9th? Surely if they went into quarantine today, 16th is earliest the teachers can return and clearly school can’t function in their absence?

Subs…

So sub them in today, tomorrow, Monday, Tuesday? contingencies such as back up subs likely in place.

Wonder is more to monitor kids, other staff etc after that initial 4 days when they can then be carriers?

Tear them and if all clear open in 7 days I ‘spose

Hippies.

What a fucking hair-brained idea. An outdoor classroom in Ireland. The kids will be dead of pneumonia before Xmas.

The chap at 1.10 in the video is a future Micheal Lehane. Will definitely be an RTE news reporter.

They’ll all have a cold by the end of the week and they’ll all be out for testing

If a teacher gets Covid 19, does the school have an obligation to tell the class of that teacher of the situation?

The “rules” being applied to schools seem to be very arbitrary.
I would have thought that the teachers class would all be considered closes contacts and the class would have to get tested? They wouldn’t need to necessarily tell you it was the teacher that tested positive, just that their was a case in the class.

There was a case in a year in our local secondary school, the whole year were out for 10 days and all had to get tested.

Thats what I would have thought too. Only found out at the weekend that one of our kids teachers had a positive test result 10 days ago and has been out since. Not one word of communication at all about it. Found out from the teachers family member and they didnt even realise that the school didnt notify anyone about it. Turns out an assistant teacher with her has also got a positive result, as well as her partner and her partners mother.

Do you need to know?

GDPR kid you aren’t entitled to know

I suppose thats the issue. But if I had to have known there was a positive case in close contact with my kid I’d have had them tested to ensure they were ok. My father is on the at risk list so it was more that I wouldnt want to be putting him at risk over it. Now it seems all is ok, but it also is a risky move I would have thought by the school.

Not about who has it, but I would have thought they would have been notified about a case in the class without naming names.

No, they’re not supposed to tell them.

Being in the classroom with someone isn’t a close contact.

Im still cranky from last night but I’m surprised you don’t know that. What do you think the teachers are complaining about? The public contempt for the teachers is jawdropping. If they told the students about positive teachers they’d have to tell the teachers about positive students. Norma Foley is now straight-up lying about all this, saying they’ll test the whole school, etc.
