because I can’t remember. I know that I got 43 points on the UL system. I got a B and 4 C’s and 2 D’s all in Honours.

A good haul in the days before they dumbed it down.
Not bad considering I hadn’t a clue how to study in those days. It was really a three / four week effort/memory trick. I got a D in the maths. Our maths teacher was useless, I remember her trying to teach us the parabola from scratch a week before the Leaving. it came up of course. I got a B in English. I remember my biro ran out and I had to write the exam with my red biro.

Sure you were at nothing with a female maths teacher. Most of them just don’t get it.

She was out on maternity for most of the five years.
The Inter Cert was where it was at. 9 subjects. No messing around.
Home economics knitting. The girls would knit a jumper for themselves and the boys project was to knit an Action Man jumper.
