The schools

David quinn who is outraged at a bike lane in fairview is a lot more concerned today with the new SPHE curriculum

That’s because they’re fucking idiots who don’t know what they’re talking about. You’d be grateful they have here because I’d hate to see them spew some of that shit in the real world

But but but trans kids etc etc.

It seems to be an anti immigrant stance.?

Too many foreigners in the city centre?

Whats the crack with this SPHE curriculum @fenwaypark ? i presume schools can slice and dice content to their own ethos.

That’s the RSE component of SPHE. It takes 6 weeks to cover. Schools can teach it from context of their school ethos. SPHE is compulsory for TY from 2025 and for Senior Cycle from 2027.

Not school related as such, but the “where is George gibney” podcast is one of the most compelling, best edited and put together, intelligent and sensitive, and utterly fucking outrageous programmes I have ever listened to. It couldn’t recommend it as such because of the content, but I think every parent, and every Irish person of a certain age should listen to it.
There is something deeply deeply rotten at the heart of it that still exists.
I haven’t quite finished it yet, but the legal decision reeks of complicity, cover up and corruption to me, be it knights of Columbus or even more sinister, and the only issue I would have is that this legal aspect doesn’t get scrutinized enough.
(It would be well worth a programme in it’s own right.)
The podcast itself is something that, well, I don’t know how to put it, but it is a brilliant work and gives you a deep appreciation of evil, depravity, ruination, devastation, and courage. You’d feel changed by it, for better or worse. And angry. So angry.
