Hard to believe that Tim Wheeler wrote this when he was 15 and was 16 when this recording was made for Trailer, very underrated Irish band here

Public Image Limited - Rise
Quite possibly one of the smashingest tunes ever written. Perfection.
Youāre maybe the fifth person to post it on this thread. What harm, I think I may have posted it twice myself.
Cracking tune, from one of the most underrated albums of all time.
I normally canāt stand heavy metal guitar wankology, but Steve Vaiās playing on that album was on another level, actually quite interesting and appropriate.
Serious mullets, serious voiceā¦ Serious song.
What an era for music, top quality stuff.
I might even post it again this afternoon, itās that good.
I like a lot of the technical elements of heavy metal, but Vaiās stuff is wank. So weāre agreed on that
Iāve posed a couple of tunes from Metal Box in this thread I think. Careering and Poptones. I think
For whatever reason PiL made me think of Billy Bragg, Iād imagine he could be quite a divisive figure on here so Iāll leave the politics aside, hard to pick a favourite but Iāll start with this, beautiful lyric about unrequited love.
Also check out his version of āWalk away Reneeā which has a similar theme

Picked this up yesterday. Record Store Day special. One sided 12" with a picture of Junior Kimbrough etched on the other. Stretched out over 15 minutes itās outstanding.
āRainbow of Loveā by the Crystal River Boys. Beyond the freak show element this is actually a rather lovely song.
I listened to it Rod because you are such an interesting character,
Itās shit beyond belief but that fella has an amazing voice.
Thanks backina, youāre a sweetheart. āShit beyond beliefā? I donāt think so. In fact, I think the guyās voice, particularly at the end, takes away from a lovely little tune.
Both of these albums mentioned already - top five on most 2015 lists - but not these songs. Welcome return to form for Sufjan Stevens and Kendrick Lamar is obviously the shit right now. Cycled a ton listening to the first
and painted the mother-in-lawās house listening to the second
Happy days.
No problem pal, I took the time to listen to it, music is subjective to a point but shit beyond belief is apt in this situation. Iāve no doubt you think some of mine arenāt up to much.
While listening to Bill Bragg on youtube this morning I came across a Kate Nash/Billy Bragg effort where they mashed A New England with Foundations, forgot what a cracking tune that was, whatever happened to Kate Nash, hard to believe that after this she pretty much disappeared

Yeah that was a nice song. I guess Nash didnāt have much left in the tank, which is often the way with quirky songs like that, like the Scottish girl with the loop box on Jools Holland years ago, is she still going? Lily Allen had the better PR there I suppose - I think I thought it was her who sang Foundations.
Billy is excellent
Saw him in Dolans about three years ago, he was unbelievable, have you a favourite tune??
Levi Stubbsā tears and Walk away Renee most probably.
I remember the first time I heard Walk away Renee I listened to it 5 or 6 times in a row, mostly to see if the last line made any sense in the context of the rest of the lyrics, unbelievable tune.
