The Snooker Thread (Part 1)

Maguire takes that frame with a delightful shot on the brown, to kiss the pink and leave the path clear for the blue.

We have a decider.

Stephen Maguire crashes out.

Poomjaeng with an excellent 63 break in the decider. He is now playing out the balls.

He’s through to the last 16.

That was a superb final frame from the Thai, he faces young Welshman Michael White in the next round. That quarter of the draw is really opening up for Neil Robertson who begins his campaign against Robert Milkins tomorrow.

Good fight back from Alan McManus this morning. He’s won the first three frames to cut the deficit to 5-7. Judd Trump has beaten Dominic Dale 10-4 to advance.

Who beat Trump in last year’s Championship? Was it Ali Carter?

Yeah in the second round. Trump pretty much imploded. He was 12-9 up and Carter won last 4 frames to win 13-12.

Carter is facing Ronnie next. In their 12 previous meeting, the score is 12-0 to Ronnie.

Ding beat McManus 10-5. Robertson leads Milkins 3-2 after the Englishman took a cagey 5th frame.

That could be close. Milkins isn’t bad.

Marco Fu beats Matthew Stevens 10-7. Both players were on 55 in the last frame when Fu produced a remarkable pot on the pink to come off several cushions to land perfect on the final awkward black.

Robertson leads Milkins 5-4.

Heard something earlier about a Thai lad who’s not observing snooker etiquette. He spilled water on himself to distract an opponent during a break or something? Anyone care to enlighten me?

Mark Selby is playing better than he did last night and leads Matthew Selt 9-4 at the mid session interval.

That Thai fella was very animated yesterday and is certainly an entertainer, didn’t hear about the water story though and Stephen Maguire had no complaints in his post match interview and was very magnanimous.

Very scrappy game at the moment between Milkins and Robertson, The Milkman has won 5 of the last 6 though and takes a 7-6 lead into the mid-session interval. Shaun Murphy leads Graeme Dott 3-1 on the other table.

Haven’t seen any of this yet, who is the value bet to win this out lads?

Milkins goes 8-7 up with an outstanding pot on a red.

Robertson doesn’t look himself at all.

That was a cracking pot alright Farmer, you were spot on about Milkins, tough player. Robertson is in deep shit here.

Murphy leading Dott 6-2 in the second round match.

8-8 in the Robertson Milkins match. Robertson playing better.

Another epic frame, 44 mins long, Milkins takes it to go 9-8 up.

Milkins takes it 10-8
