The Snooker Thread (Part 1)

Ronnie was won 7 UK Championships and 7 Masters but he’s never won both in the same season before to set up a tilt at the Triple Crown for the Crucible.

I think Ronnie will win BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2019.

Judd Trump schooling Ronnie so far. 4-0 ahead at mid session interval.

Important Trump takes a frame here quickly enough. Nip this comeback in the bud

Bad miss on that red to the middle for Ronnie. He’s got away with it though and should be back in again.

Good response from Trump. Will have a lead to defend in the evening no regardless

5-1 Trump. Important frame to win to preserve his 4 frame lead. Ronnie had chances in it.

Nothing dropping for Ronnie here. Trump will make it 6-1 now. Long way back from there. Would have to win 9 of the remaining 12 frames.

Ronnie O’Sullivan hits the 990th century break of his career.

O’Sullivan 3 Trump 8.

Big comebacks are far from unknown in the final of the Benson & Hedges Masters.

9-3. Trump one away.

No harm to get it over with on afc and nfc final night.

Career century number 991 for O’Sullivan reduces the deficit to 4-9.

Judd is polishing off his 10-4 win now. Ronnie concedes.

Judd Trump is the 2019 Benson & Hedges Masters champion. The lefty beats Ronnie O’Sullivan 10-4 at the Wembley Conference Centre.

A Benson & Hedges Masters to go with his Coral UK Championship from 2011 at the Preston Guild Hall. Surely the Embassy World Championship will follow. Mind you the same has been said of Doug Mountjoy, Jimmy White, Matthew Stevens and Ding Junhui.

Similar was said of Paul Hunter. Unfortunately the Beckham of the Baize’s fondness for the tournament sponsor’s product may have contributed to that not happening.

Very nice to see the tournament trophy named after him these days, however - an overdue and fitting memorial to the three time champion.

Ronnie proving he’s not the GOAT.

At least Ronnie never lost a Benson & Hedges Masters Final to Alan McManus

Harsh.

Preston Round one. Ronnie 5-4 vs Hawkins. First to six.
