The Snooker Thread (Part 1)

Stuart Bingham and Anthony McGill are the first two players to reach the 1/4 finals. Bingham dismissed Ricky Walden 6-0 while world #38 McGill survived a late fightback from John Higgins to win 6-5.

Dott playing like a man possessed tonight!

Robertson back to 3-5 now and looking good for 4-5.

Mark Davis beat James Cahill 6-2

5-5 now. Robertson has come from 5-0 down

Dott wins. Superb wumming from the Larkhall man to let Robertson back into it before killing him off.

Morris 3-1 down to Stephen Maguire at mid session interval

147 break seals a 6-0 victory for Ronnie vs Matt Selt

Genius.

Nerve well held by Davy there to drop the one red he needed after taking a break to let Ronnie finish off.
3-2

Unreal. And he was on ten blacks in the previous frame.

3-3

Maguire 4-3 up, Morris has had a couple of chances in this frame and blown them, Maguire is in now.

The Irishman goes 5-3 up over the man from Kilkenny.

Maguire with a 74 break makes it 5-3. Morris will have to do what Marco Fu did earlier in the day and come back from 5-3, looks a very tall order.

The dream is over for Morris. He was very unlucky tonight, his long potting was excellent but all too often he got unlucky with the run of the balls. He can take great heart from this run in the tournament and hopefully his season can kick on from here. The 1/4 final line up is…

Graeme Dott V Stuart Bingham
Anthony McGill V Ronnie O’Sullivan
Mark Davis V Judd Trump
Marco Fu V Stephen Maguire

Great stuff from Ronnie, even with a broken ankle

Ronnie = Box Office.

Natural talent:clap:

The 147 is on bbc2 now. He’s 47 into it.

Poetry in motion. A privilege to watch the man play.
