Ken 9-8 up now needing one more to finally see off the ten times wimmins champion. His opponent in the next round looks like it could be David Morris if he wins. The Kilkenny cueman currently leads Lee Walker 8-5.

This is reminiscent of a tense battle to win a frame between my brother and myself at Spawell.

That was a hell of a shot to dig the pink out of the jaws of the green pocket and bring the cue ball back down the table to get the snooker behind the black. Reanne Evans seemed to lose composure when she failed to hit it. Doherty is a street fighter and in darting parlance he beat her up.
Make no mistake about it, this is a huge win for the superior sex. Any foothold the females may have gotten, no matter how small, in on our sporting dominance could have developed into something untoward. Even the mightiest avalanche starts with the tiniest snowflake.
For that Ken, we are grateful.
Lee Walker has won two in a row and now trails Morris 8-7.
Ken is an alright sort.
Morris eventually lost 10-9 to Walker in a cliffhanger that ended at 1:57 AM. Walker incidentally got the the quarter finals of the1997 world championships, the tournament that was of course won by Ken Doherty.
