Jeremy Noseda pulled off that legendary gamble in royal Ascot. I think it was the dam of winter. They gambled it from 20/1 into a very short price. I can’t recall if the lads owned it but I’m sure Murtagh or fallon rode it.

Apparently she’d have been an unbelievable horse but they could never keep her right. Think Noseda might have said she was the best he trained. He’d fleeting Spirit as well who was a serious sprinter. Sprints were way stronger back in the noughties as there wasn’t the same number of horses being sold abroad. Those heritage handicap sprints in England were proper races with real antepost interest. Horses could work their way up from good handicaps to Group company, Meydan had just opened an Dubai was in its pomp. Those horses are all in Hong kong and Aus now.

There was huge money in sprinter prize money and sprint studs. Eddie Lynam was the main man here
Johnny Murtagh had a great interview recently where the moment he has a horse showing promise they get sold/shipped off overseas. Think Ger Lyons said same - only interested in 2 year olds as prize money post this is crap.

He had sixties icon too who won the Leger. He famously missed the race as buying horses in Kentucky. He had one at the end of the Phoenix debacle called Gronkowski. Rob Gronkowski took a share in it before it was entered in Kentucky Derby but didn’t run I don’t think.
But then came second in Belmont stakes and very narrow second in Dubai World Cup but was well gone from noseda at that stage.

I rejigged my plans yesterday and getting a train up this morning. Pretty much everyone on the platform is heading racing, great buzz. This is National Hunt country.

I’ve been invited to the posh seats today. Can you throw me a few horses that are likely to win so I can come across as knowledgeable to whoever I’m seating beside?
Is there any particular horse that likes swimming and has a chance of winning that I should look at?
