As of yesterday the course in Listowel was heavily waterlogged and definitely unraceable but hopefully this dry stretch will help the ground firm up in time for Sunday.

Should be ok form what I am hearing no more rain forecast, but there is a further inspection this afternoon.

Last year they lost the Sunday & Monday cause of the rain. Meant they got rid of all the flat races for the rest of the week and it became an all NH card. Better off in my opinion!

Yeah, last years cards were inproved no end by loosing two days. But Tipp has got the go-ahead today, and if Tipp isok to race, everywhere else will be as well.

Badly needed for Tipp. I reckon they’ve lost their last 3 meetings due to weather.

Age of Aquarius out of the English St Leger

Johnny now on Changingoftheguard

Wonder will Age of Aquarius go to Melbourne for teh Cup, hasnt been crucified in the weight and could have a right chance at 16’s.

Changing of the Gaurd is a decent horse, but not a Ledger winner for me. Kite Wood or Mourayan in what is a fairly mediocre renewal.

What are the chances of Ponmeoath complete a hat trick of Kerry nationals? Had a blow out in Galway last week, and will go straight into the National then.

Very similar to last years preparation, but will be carrying top weight this year. Loves the course and the race though and it’s the only thing on the owners mind every year.

Backstage will be carrying my money Runt but Ponmeoath certainly can’t be discounted alright

Backstage is the only horse rated higher than him, so will be carrying a few lbs more. I see Paul Nichols has Hoo-la-baloo entered as well. Has the makings of a good contest.

All National Hunt Monday 14th September & all Flat Tuesday 15th September-
Due to ground conditions at Listowel, Horse Racing Ireland has announced that Monday’s and Tuesday’s existing races will be switched to form an all National Hunt fixture on Monday 14th September and an all Flat fixture on Tuesday 15th September.
New meeting numbers and letters for these two meetings will be announced tomorrow.

Listowel’s seven-day Festival is set to start as scheduled on Sunday after the course passed an inspection.
Although the going is described as heavy, it is raceable and no longer waterlogged in places.
“It has been passed fit for racing. It is heavy and they are using the inside track on Sunday. We are OK to go, no problem,” said Irish Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone.
Listowel Race Committee member Pat Healy said: “We are delighted with the track at the moment and hopefully the ground will be riding better than soft by Sunday. We anticipate no problems and the feature event, as ever, is the Guinness Kerry National on Wednesday.”

Just sitting down here to watch the sport and I see Yeats is now 5/1, what’s that about? All the morning papers had him 2’s or shorter.

Than fucker Dettori. Had a 40 treable done with Chinese white 11/8, Poets Voice 13/8 and Kite Wood 5/2. Beaten less than a length by the supposed stable second string. Heading up to Dublin now like a fucking bear
