The Sport of Kings & Equine Matters šŸ

Iā€™m not going to rush to judgement here. Iā€™ll wait to hear what The Dunph has to say on the matter.

Unreal.

Jumping - Immense.
Stamina - Unrivalled.
Courage - Undoubtable.

Super stuff from the tank, it was a pleasure to see him win in that styleā€¦

Was seething alright, but Denman got me out the gap. Sometimes you just canā€™t beat quality. Unreal performance

Would be worried that Christian Williams wouldnā€™t get the same out of him in a match with Kauto.

Didnā€™t see the race was it much more impressive than his win there in 2007???

The remarkable thing about it was that he was running off a rating 13lbs higher Puke. The galloping nature of that track in Newbury really suits him. If heā€™s clinically normal at Cheltenham in March heā€™ll take some beating. I would love to see him wrestle back his crown from Kauto. He broke him there in 2008 and he can break him again. French breds will be on the retreat once more.

Padjo, as far as I know you will be paid at 25/1 because that is what his starting price returned. Paddy Powers guarantee their odds so that if the SP is greater youā€™ll get paid at that. Make sure they donā€™t forget.

Iā€™d be fairly sure he was available at 33/1 in places Padjo earlier in the day. I woulnā€™t be so quick to lavish praise on Paddy Powersā€¦

Whackers are alright sorts, their football prices are pretty much magic sign material, they never ever get stung by a big football gamble yet they go from strength to strength

Stay away from Paddy Power specials, fucking things never come up,avoid at all costs,AT ALL COSTS!

Whackers?

Better again:clap:

Lads, what think you all of the Master Minded situation? Is there more to it than we know or is it just a small problem that needs to be ironed out?

Also, Voler la Vedette is still 9/2 with Hills for the mares hurdle in Chelt. She beat Go Native by 13L last time out in a bog in Downroyal. Surely sheā€™s overpriced at that? Or is Quevega that good?

You might have answered this yourself above, Cheltenham in March is about as far removed from that as you can get.

9/2 is a fair price at best.

Just rechecked it and it was soft rather than heavy but thatā€™s besides the point. Powers are the only other bookies offering prices on the race and they have her at 5/2. Just think sheā€™s a tad longer than she merits being.

I was winning on a good e/w accum only to be let down by Barber Shop not making the 1st three,a few soccer accums went west aswell after showing early promise, thought it was a fairly good run out of Barber Shop considering the pace in ground that wouldnt suit at all.

Was never really over enthusiastic about Harchibald but he won a fair wedge of money for connections over his career. Always seemed a bit soft to me. A pity they didnā€™t try him over fences earlier to see if he would improve over them.

Harchibald retired, says Meade

Tuesday, 1 December 2009 12:32
Noel Meade has confirmed that his brilliant hurdler Harchibald has run his last race.

The 10-year-old is perhaps most famous for his narrow defeat in the 2005 Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, but he did pick up five Grade One events over timber during his career.

Second to Sizing Europe on his first start over fences at Punchestown in October, Harchibald was unplaced on his final outing on the all-weather at Dundalk last Friday.

ā€˜Harchibald is going to be retired and is not going to run again,ā€™ said Meade.

'We made the decision on Monday as every time he has run recently, he has been coming back stiff behind and the ground is much against him at the moment.

'Itā€™s been hard finding the right race for him and he was going to be getting on in years by the time the ground came right, so weā€™ve decided to call it a day with him.

ā€˜Heā€™s been a fantastic horse for us and a great horse to be associated with.ā€™

Harchibald enjoyed some good battles with the likes of Hardy Eustace and Brave Inca during his career and Meade thinks Harchibald could clash again with the last-named in the show ring.

ā€˜Heā€™ll stay with us and maybe heā€™ll end up competing with Brave Inca again at the Dublin Horse Show,ā€™ he added.
