Any fancies for the Kentucky Derby tonight Your Holiness?

Lots of rumours during the week that the Sheikh will retire all the horses Zarooni was doping, will be interesting to see if Bolger picks up any of the string. Would be a good boost for Irish racing if he did.

The fact that Ryan Moore chose Kentucky over Newmarket should tell you all you need to know.

The Kentucky Derbyā€¦ twenty 3yos going 10f for the first time in their lives (most of whom will never run that distance again), around two 180 degree turns, with all the traffic problems and luck/bad luck in running normally ensues, and on top of that itā€™s been pissing rain all day in Louisville so the track is sloppy mud bathā€¦ itā€™s a fucking lottery.

Orb is the best horse in the field, and expect him to be top 3yo at yearā€™s end, but a bad break or bad trip today and all that means naught

I was thinking Itsmyluckyday might be a nice gamble at 15 or 20/1, but heā€™s single digit odds at the moment on the US tote, so thereā€™s been a plunge of money on him.

Palace Malice might worth an each way flutterā€¦ very unlucky in his last couple of runs. Could be there or thereabouts at the business end of things, and can be had in the 20s at the moment.

Normandy Invasion has been a big mover in the betting today, must be a feeling his closing style will fit the conditions.

What time is it on at and is it on TV here?

You can watch it hereā€¦ http://www.dmi.ae/dubairacing/live.asp

RacingUK and AtTheRaces said they couldnā€™t afford to pay for the rights. Stupid cunts, itā€™s only one of the most famous races in the world.

Cheers, am I missing something or are Betfair not betting on this tonight?

Orb wins the Kentucky Derby in treacherous conditions.

For fuxake man, you must not watch much American racing. A bit of splattered mud is not treacherous.

Lovely to see Shug finally win a Derby, and do it for one of the oldest extant families in American racing. Bluebloods all round.
This is a very very nice horse.

Donā€™t watch any of it:p

Looked awful and the commentators kept saying it was very bad. Lines of battle in 8th, 12 lengths behind the winner.

Taking What a name in the 1000. I think Cecils favourite is there to be shot at and this one has top class form in the book,(2nd to Olympic Glory in the Grand Critirium) the French have a great record in this and Dezangles knows himself won the 2000 with Makfi a few years back. The Irish challenge looks weak. Rasmeyaa and Moth could be anything after pissing their maidens but little or no support in the market for either.

Emma ā€˜Spencerā€™

Sky Lantern gets up to beat Just the Judge and win a first English classic for Richard Hughes. Hot Snap and What a name both very disappointing

Had just the judge e.w ā€¦

Backed Moth, didnā€™t get going till too late and had a dreadful run through in loads of traffic. Finished well and deffo one for the Oaks.

JPā€™s daughter has what appears to be a very nice filly on her hands in Alve Alive Oh, not sure if sheā€™s entered up but could be interesting!!

Soweheard 7.00 Downpatrick

Short enough odds.

Had captain bertie at 6/1 in the first at Chester.

Iā€™ve had two small bets on Cash or Casualty and Polar Kite in the 3.50.

Iā€™m addicted to gambling thanks to Mac and fenwaypark.

After JPā€™s winners yesterday Iā€™ll be having a few quid on my good friend fingeronthepulse at 3.30. I havenā€™t had a bet in Chester all week and it will remain that way.

I backed Nomadic Dreamer in the next in Market Rasen.
I assume Mac did as well.

Why would you assume that, mate?
