Dour Brit fucker[/quote]

Reminiscent of Piggott and Eddery. He’s the best jockey in the business at the moment though.

As for the race, it was an absolute shambles. Dawn Approach was fucked after the first furlong and in hindsight it was madness getting it to attempt a mile and a half. One of the roughest Derbys you’ll ever see and Moore’s cool head won the day.

If Dawn Approach is as good as they say he is he’ll be back to win the Derby next year.

If he is as good as they say he is, he will be fucking his brains out next year.

I know fuck all about flat but seemed to me that Dawn Approach couldn’t settle off a slow pace. O’Brien didn’t send his off like the clappers like he usually does and that worked against DA. Surprised Bolger didn’t run another in it to dictate the pace.

I’m sure Bolger will regret taking out Trading Leather now, but I guess he assumed like everyone else than one of O’Brien’s battalion would set a fierce pace. Was interesting to see that Ryan Moore sat behind DA the whole time Manning was wrestling with him, he knew what was happening and took full advantage.

Went with Galileo Rock e/w in the end. Got tremendous excitement for my money.

Would the Manning chap be considered a good jockey.

He would be fairly decent jockey. There was nothing much he could do. Horse just wouldn’t settle. If anything it’s Bolger’s fault for not having done the work with him at home to teach him to settle. Either that or he should have run his own pacemaker to ensure a stronger pace as SR suggested. The Ballydoyle pacemaker didn’t even pace make, he gladly surrendered his role to Marengo to dictate the pace.

Kieran Gavin with an overhead kick.

Didn’t obriens last Chester vase winner treasure beach also go close there 3-4 years ago?

Second to Pour Moi I think when that crazy jockey stood up in the irons

Correct, Treasure Beach, went on then to win the Secretariat Stakes in Chicago. Patently obvious DA didn’t stay today, there was fookall Manning could do I thought. Fair fooks to Bolger for trying though and he might just be somewhat consoled by Talents winning the Oaks yesterday, another from New Approach.
St Nicholas Abbey took his career earnings to 5million today winning the coronation, not bad.

Am backing Mick Halfords 3 runners in Naas

Good start Mac, missed the first one though.

Crash e/w - 4.50 Lios Tuathail

[Aftertiming] I was impressed with David Splaine earlier in 2 races. I backed him blindly there in the last at 25/1. End result, he romps in  :pint: [/Aftertiming]

Rocko, what happens if the post is quoted by a member?

1 winner, 1 second, 1 nowhere. Not a bad result.
