Captain Cee Beeās proximity to the winner today worries me. I know we are sick of people trying to punch holes in HF, but Iām getting the feeling heās not beating much over here.
TNO and MTOY look better than Jezki and Our Conor. Really hope Annie Power goes for the CH now.

SR,
Proximity of CCB has more to do with the way the race was run rather than anything else. Hurricane Fly, Jezki and Our Conor are genuine Grade 1 horses. They have proven that in championship races.
You wont win a Champion Hurdle without being slick and fast over your hurdles and Hurricane Fly is the best in that regard, closely followed by Our Conor. TNO and MTOY do not hurdle well enough to win a Champion Hurdle. You also need speed and stamina. TNO and MTOY have that.
I think the Champion Hurdle is between Hurricane Fly, Annie Power and Our Conor.

Agree with all this 100%ā¦Based on fact not conjecture . AP remains totally unproven and an unknown quantity over 2m.doncaster was a farce , she could be anything but looking at her size and breeding I suspect sheāll be a touch slow to win a true run CHā¦but sheās in the mix if she ran there
Just to put the Sun irish CH form in perspective, and the reality of why CCB was so close
"Winning trainer Willie Mullins expressed both relief and delight after the win, saying āif youād seen the bit of work Iād seen him (Hurricane Fly) do during the week! It was terrible and his worst bit of work ever; I was so disappointed that I came down off the gallops thinking āthe dream is overā and maybe itās come to the stage where heās had enough.
āThankfully that night we found a bruise in his foot and, once poulticed, he seemed find the next morning. However that bad bit of work stuck in my mind all week and certainly when Our Conor loomed up beside him, I thought āthat bad bit of work will beat himā and weād get beaten on the day. "
Gilgamboa entered in the Betfair hurdle at the weekend, running under penalty onoly I assume (unless english handicapper nails him). Anyone check see if it is priced up as yet?
As for CH, Our Conor for me I think at this point in time. Think HF might drift before the day with loads of English misplaced confidence and becoming a betting proposition again.

The JP McManus-owned six-year-old was among the leading contenders for Saturdayās valuable handicap following a narrow triumph at Punchestown on New Yearās Eve and ran out an impressive winner in the hands of Mark Walsh.
With the Betfair Hurdle coming up only a fortnight later, Bolger is keen to see how his lightly-raced charge recovers before committing to any targets.
The trainer said: "He has come out of the race in good nick and we wonāt be making any decision with him (in regards to Newbury) until the end of the week.
āHe is in good form after Leopardstown but there will be no decision made for another week.ā
Bolger also declared his satisfaction with the performance of Quantitativeeasing in a point-to-point in Nenagh, County Tipperary on Sunday.
The nine-year-old finished third in a race won by Burren River, with former Lexus Chase winner Pandorama splitting the pair in second.
Bolger said: "We were pleased with him. He hadnāt raced since the Kerry National so he had his first run back and it will do him the world of good.
āHe might now go for the Hunters Chase at Leopardstown (the Raymond Smith Memorial Hunters Chase on February 9).ā
Sorry didnāt mean to like this , I havenāt seen the race yet, was just asking based on the bare results, and distances and the fact hurricane fly was a probably NR 4 days before the race. I donāt think there was anything new learned this weekend. If you are an our Conor fan youāll still hope hell finds more improvement . HF fans have no reason to change. Jedski is what he is.
Ricci itās clear wants to run AP in the CH but they havenāt given her anything you could even appropriate to a trial.
The only thing I would massively disagree on is the statement that the English challengers are non existent, i an pretty certain TNO and MTOY will be in the first 3-4
Looks now very much like AP will line up on the Tuesday. Itās a pity as The Stayers is on a plate for them. Mullins and Ruby must be worried that The Fly might end her promising career like he did to Peddlers Cross that time and itās hard to blame them there.
