The stalker is back - part 2

I think we’re very close to catching up on Australia and as they take a 3-4 week break every Christmas over in Australia RTE sometimes take the opportunity to skip the odd Monday episode over the summer months. I recall they did it for a few days last summer during the World Athletics Championships too, the bastards.

Thank goodness for that. I set the recorder today even though I hadn’t checked this thread and assumed it wouldn’t be on.

I really thought Belle had uncovered the truth about Kelly today. She’ll keep though.

I have fallen for Belle officially now and don’t like Matilda as much as I used to.

I still like Matilda a little bit more than Belle though if that makes any sense.

Agree with the last 2 statements.

Is anybody still defending Tony Holden after his recent performances?

What a weiner.

Threatening 'Ric cos he’s Herbie Hiding Matilda now, ‘You hurt her and you’ll have me to deal with - got it?’

Then fretting about like a female cos Lucas got dumped by Belle. So your 17 year old son had his heart broken - build a bridge and get over it for fook sake.

Don’t even get me started on Kim today either.

Missed the episode with Ric and Matilda so can’t comment but yesterday for me was all about what a loser Lucas is. Any actions from Tony paled into comparison with Lucas’ “A Dark Heart.” What a brutal short story.

Fully agreed on Kim. Whatever respect I still had for him (I’m not sure whether I ever liked him but as Scott Hunter’s nemesis he needed my support) has long since disappeared. What the Bay needed wasn’t a new nurse with a minor problem. It needs a new rogue.

Is it just me or has Pippa put on a few pounds? When she was eating whatever breakfast this morning with Brad she looked overweight.

I said to Jugs last week that she went from being about 18 months to 4 years old in the space of an episode. Maybe the older kid kidnapped the infant that originally played Pippa and is taking her acting fees?

What an incredible weiner Lucas Holden is.

It’s his father’s fault too.

I have given up on today’s episode 5 minutes before the end because of these 2.

Weiners.

Shame on you. I still have my faith in Tony Holden. Agreed on Lucas though.

rock, what is it with you and Tony Holden? Does he have something on you, is that why you continue to defend him?

Lucas never had a chance with that puffball as his father. Tony needs to 1) get a proper, above minimum wage job, 2) lose the 16 yr old surfer boy look 3) stop fooking interfering and trying to solve everyone else’s problems 4) lay a decent looking bird and last, but by no means least, hurl himself over the edge of the bluff.

by the way i missed it today, what happened?

Belle and Drew had fallen all of 5 yards yesterday at the end so they needed to be rescued by Lucas, Ric and Mattie.

Lucas won his writing competition.

Amdanda’s mother (Kitty I think) came back suddenly because she has no money. She overheard Kelly on the phone to Ethan boasting about how they would ruin Amanda’s wedding.

I agree that Lucas is a total fool but I have a degree of sympathy for him in this whole situation. I think Belle is way out of line trying to force him to be ok with her and Drew. All her nonsense when they were dating about not wanting to hurt him and she is hurting him way more now.

I dont think you can blame Tony for what a wuss Lucas is look how well Jack turned out apart from his taste in women hes a credit to Tony.

Having not seen H&A in 4 weeks approx I was delighted to be home on Tuesday and Wednesday to see it. Only to realise that it’s currently in drivel mode. Nothing happening. The Kelly-Ethan thing is boring although I’m slightly curious as to what they’re going to do. Lucas off to nerd camp again - snore. Martha being a fool about a bloke again - hardly surprising.

Yeah it’s only the Kelly-Ethan story that’s in any way interesting but only in the expectation that it’s something very clever and very cruel. Can it be better than kidnapping Belle for instance? This better be huge.

i think Martha is an absolute munter and i hate her almost as much as Leah but fook me she looked steaming hot doing the pole dancing.

I must say I’m really looking forward to Home and Away today.

Yesterday was a real return to form.

I always enjoy the episodes where the teens are involved in high jinx and other japes.

Jules robbing the gin and then getting caught at the beach party by Dan and Peter was excellent stuff.

There was also a few cracking lines in the episode:

‘We’ve no availability at all - the Yabbie Creek show’s on this week.’ - Cassie to Dr Sullivan when he went to rent a van in the caravan park.

‘How about a bit of service around here.’ - Jules to Alf when he wanted to order a juice.

‘How about you getting yourself a fat lip.’ - Mr Stewart’s reply.

I don’t understand why Dr Sullivan limited his search for accomodation to Summer Bay only. We saw with various characters’ trips to the hospital that Northern Districts is roughly 20/25 minutes by car from The Bay. Surely he could have checked out places in Yabbie Creek, Reefton Lakes, Mangrove River and Warratah Heights? Also, the likes of Peter Baker and Zoe/Eve were easily able to arrive in the Bay and get immediate rented accomodation. My conclusion is that he never even tried properly to find a place and always planned to slum in with Rachel and will now try to slip one in her when Kim’s away.

Didn’t see it recently so I’ve no idea whoJules is - glad to hear of a return to form. I’ve recorded today’s episode which I’m planning on watching in 20 minutes or so once Mrs Rock gets home with my dinner.

On the whole geography thing - any idea where Martha works?

I missed Home and Away last Thursday and Friday so can somebody please update me on how the Cam/Martha storyline concluded?

From today’s episode I see that Jack was the hero for saving Martha from some incident and Cam has been arrested.

Other than that there was a typically cringe scene between Jack and Tony where Jack was explaining the ‘intense moment’ he and Martha shared the night before.

Though Jack wants to get back with Martha she’s not ready for a relationship yet having spent the last couple of months after her marriage break up and subsequent abortion following her fling with Ash as an alcoholic, exotic dancer and escort which is probably fair enough.

However, now we’ll be subject to about 25 episodes where Jack provides her with a shoulder to cry on before they eventually get back together and it’ll more than likely be ridiculously boring.

Today’s episode was saved by the scenes in Summer Bay High. The show’s been traditionally very strong when there’s all manner of escapades going on in the school and today’s pranks with Jules, Belle and Cassie was wonderful television.

A couple of minor additional observations:

  1. Why did Sal already have a place at the table set for Jack if she didn’t know he was coming to the barbeque?

  2. It seems a bit odd to see Brad dishing out a detention to Cassie and then dishing out dinner for her mere hours later. A potential conflict of interests?

Good post Bandage. Despite an advertised starting time of 13:20 today for the bank holiday the lunchtime episode actually started at about 13:10 or so which cause me to miss a couple of minutes at the start. It’s an indictment on the quality of the show of late that I wasn’t unduly perturbed.

I saw Friday’s episode, but not Thursday’s so my explanations are a little reliant on assumptions. There was some sort of deal going down at the club and Cam rang Martha to tell her to be there. After the deal was executed Cam arranged for the premises to be torched and Martha was locked inside the office at this point. There was/is some confusion over whether Cam was acting wrecklessly because he knew Martha was locked in the office or whether he was deliberately trying to kill her. Either way there was a big blaze and Martha was deliberately trapped in there by someone.

She had called Jack earlier in the episode leaving messages on his mobile asking him to come down the club because there was something not right. Jack cruised down in a cop car when he got the messages and saw the flames. He burst into the building, identified the office as Martha’s location and dragged her out of the fire. Not something I’d have done in her position - think I’d have waited for the fire crew.

On today’s episode I was remarking to the future Mrs Rock earlier how the school scenes are one of Home and Away’s strongest points. There’s always some level of pranks going on and at worst you get some decent banter in the school. I was encouraged also to hear promise of a new character from Lucas’ comments about a tutor from writing workshop coming to teach in SB High shortly. Hopefully it’s a bloke and he takes Sally from Brad and is a tough role model for Ric.

Interesting observations at the end. Not sure what the answers are to be honest but I do think Cassie and Brad are walking a tightrope with a personal and teacher-student relationship taking place simultaneously. I liked the way they all raised their glasses in a toast of sorts and Alf was enjoying a stubbie of beer. None of this soft drink or wine nonsense for Mr Stewart.
