He is unbeatable at the moment. Watched today it was competitive for the first 7 games then djokovic stepped up a gear and blew him away. It was better than the Raonic capitulation in Indian wells.

Is there any hope for nadal?
Hard to say. He hasn’t been a factor in a serious tournament in nearly two years since winning the French in 2014. Not too many signs either that he still has it. This represents a big opportunity though to lay down a marker with Djokovic gone at such an early stage.
A few good matches today in Monte Carlo. Murray/paire you would expect Murray to win but he struggled in his first match. Nadal/thiem is a good one for Nadal. He should have enough for Thiem but if Thiem can knock the confidence of Nadal then he has a chance. Wawrinka/Simon is another good one. Wawrinka should win but it depends on whether the I can’t be arsed wawrinka or the competitive wawrinka turns up.

Tennis heaven tomorrow with the matches on Murray/Raonic, Nadal/Wawrinka, Federer/Tsonga and Monfils/Granollers.

Those 2 semi’s were disappointing. Raonic has to get his head sorted if he is going to make the step up to challenge for titles. Wawrinka wasn’t really too bothered today but it was important for Nadal to win to get some form going.
Tsonga beat Federer. Federer wasn’t at his best but would have expected to beat Tsonga especially after winning the first set.
Monfils won the other quarter final but didn’t watch that one.
Semi’s line up is Murray/Nadal and Tsonga/Monfils. I would expect Nadal to win his semi and it’s a flip of the coin on the 2 french chokers.

Carlos Bernardes was about the only umpire who took Nadal to task for his gamesmanship. Nadal lobbied to have Bernades taken off his matches.
