The Ultrarunning Thread

Those records are ten and 7 years old, Aidanā€™s best is one k less which after 24 hours running isnā€™t al that much,
Iā€™m sticking with my man :grinning:

Keith is the GOAT. Cork man too.

Capell wins. 20 hours and 19 minutes. Pretty much ran 20 hours out in front on his own. Devastating performance.

Probably mentioned already in the thread but the Barkley Marathon doc on Netflix is a great watch. Nutters. Most years nobody finishes

+1 to this, very good story well told, interesting characters, thereā€™s some great footage of Killian Jornet descending mountains like a goat in fast forward,

That man has no fear. The only one of them still standing strong in the sport a decade later. He is an absolute machine going down a mountain

Cheers pal. I was up at a screening in Tollymore of it in December. Am working on another project that Paddy is part of so was having a chat with him. Can confirm that heā€™s a decent sort

As @Big_Dan_Campbell used to say, heā€™s the pure solid finest. Brains to burn too.

Yep. Lot of brainy mathematicians and scientists tend to be attracted to ultrarunning

He was the laziest fucker out of his whole family. Would be dragged to underage stuff and would sit in the car not wanting to watch running as it was too boring. Had some kind of Eureka moment in his late teens or early 20s. Itā€™s mad when you think of it.

Tread/trail run carefully here mate

He did a few runs before he moved to the States but not much. His main sport was lacrosse (Irish international)

Thatā€™s been sped up

Interesting to see what happened to Geoff Roes, who featured in the Unbreakable doc I posted a few weeks back

What are these lads running away from?
