Just fired this on. Every 80s musical cliche gathered in one spot, but still brilliant.
“And I’ll sail her up the west coast
Through villages and towns
I’ll be on my holidays
They’ll be doing their rounds
They’ll ask me how I got her I’ll say “I saved my money”
They’ll say isn’t she pretty that ship called dignity”
Now that brings me right back
Jayz we had that at home on cassette. David Dundas!
Bruce Springsteens only US No1 as a songwriter is on that record.
Blinded by the Light is a decent tune
It is. Brucie was in a hiatus with his management at the time and couldn’t release any records, just as he was about to break into global superstardom. Manfred Mann saw their opportunity and released a Brucie tune and reaped the reward.
How many of those have been caught under Operation Yewtree?
Have any of them?
He was on Desert Island Discs there before Christmas. No idea what he picked.
No, We were too poor.
No
I haven’t heard it but some top notch musicians on it. I’d say it’s savage. out of 10 ??
I’d give it 9/10. I’m docking a mark because it’s too short. But otherwise it’s savage.
aye just 25 minutes! I’ll certainly give it a listen
