Have you no heating in the house??

Pilot announced the plane was leaking fuel, and the supply was running low. FFS says the Kerry man, we’ll be stuck up here all night

It’s sounds glorious where you guys are… it’s like Siberia here in Cork.

Went out for a swim in Rosslare Strand this morning. The car park was like an ice rink and the sand was frozen solid, but the mind is grateful for just 2 minutes in the soak.

Still grounded here. Looks like we won’t be taking off until gone 6 if we are lucky.
Not sure if the incoming flight has taken off from Dublin yet.

Genuinely mate, if you get stuck and can get to Manchester you’re welcome to stay. We’re supposed to even have a hurling match tomorrow if you have a pair of trainers (I suspect the pitch will be frozen too hard)

PS I’ll be going for a couple in the station tomorrow night. May well have a leading light in PWC along. Last time she came in (4 weeks ago) she sat down, looked around, and took alcogel out and wiped her hands thoroughly :joy:

But but he can go on the roof for £13 (+£3.50 booking fee)
Apparently Friday is all day off peak so he’ll be grand.

Friday is off peak? That’s mental

This is according to the lad I sat opposite in the train on Tuesday. An interesting conversation. I think he was probably an Avanti exec. He was asking me how often I used the train, how I found it etc etc. I opined that it should be renationalised and said the prices were utterly ridiculous. He countered that Avanti didn’t make that much money (not sure how he’d know) and that re-nationalisation would be a fiasco and asked if I knew when the last rail was laid in the UK. I said crossrail is only after finishing. He said, no proper railway, I said I worked laying the DLR in the nineties, he said, no, proper intercity lines. I guessed 1930s. He said with certainty that it was 1851 (iirc). I deduced from this that he may work for Avanti, or he was an oddball. Anyhow, when I said I’d paid £505 for a return ticket, and the last time I’d been to London by train, four of us flew return to Mallorca the next day for sixty quid less. He said well you can get tickets for £25. I said that’s no good to anyone who needs to be in London for work. He then said that it was off peak all day on Friday.
I haven’t checked this, but he certainly knew his facts, or was an outstanding bullshitter.
I thought that I’ll make sure any further day work is scheduled for a Friday.

Latest information is fly is delayed until 9:30

OK, I’m not going to look it up, but it does strike me as bizarre that Friday is off peak, wouldn’t it be one of the busiest times with people travelling home or away for the weekend

It struck me as odd too. In fact, I’ll check now. I presume he was referring to Avanti West coast mainline

@Batigol’s arms will be knackered from holding up the sign in the arrivals hall.
