I tried this “life hack” this morning. It worked after a fashion. It did clear the windscreen but I don’t think there was enough heat in the bag because the windscreen had started to ice up again by the time I got into the drivers seat.
I’ll be sticking with the kettle of boiling water.

A kettle of boiling water is completely unnecessary and can cause more problems besides. A jug of hot water from the tap is all anyone needs.

Could ye not start the engine and use the window heater to melt the ice?

The only way to do it

Did you empty the bag contents over the windscreen once done ?

Why don’t ye leave car running for 2 or 3 minutes. Car would be good to go by the time you had marmelade on the toast.

What’s wrong with fucking somewarm water on the car while youre heading out to start it for that couple of minutes?

No? Should I have?

I don’t have time for that.

Yes, but it you don’t have a bag, try using a kettle

Posioning others isnt the best option

Could you not cover the windscreen with an old newspaper the night before? A Sindo maybe

I did that and it kept ice off it.

Sure you’d be as well off filling the kettle with warm water so.

The digital edition of the Irish Times wouldn’t work so well.

You have to bring the kettle back into the house then though

Be worried about it being robbed by an opportunistic car thief. Doubt if the insurance would cover you in that situation
