Why has Limerick gone Red when the models are actually showing it to be less severe than earlier?

Only looking at my own local forecast but the wind speed forecast is a nice bit lower than earlier. But ME must surely have access to some other info if they are upgrading.

There was savage demand for a red. You could sense the anticipation building as the evening wore on.

Teachers need to get a start on the Christmas shopping.

My parents groups are hopping. Apparently schools closed in cork for an orange

Once the ref is called to the monitor you know they’ll have to give a red
