🌬 The Weather Thread part 2

It barely ever rains in Dublin so shit just got real.

I have to go into town for a festive meal. I was planning to get the bus but that plan is now in tatters. Might have to get a taxi.

We can thank our lucky stars that torrential & prolonged downpour didn’t occur tomorrow on Chartered Accountants Ireland (Leinster Society) Christmas Lunch day.

Couldn’t get a taxi. In the end I had to drive. I’ll get a bus in in the morning and collect the car.

The Monk is at a loose end

I think tonights storm has been underplayed a bit and perhaps weather warning fatigue has set in. I could see upgrades for some of the yellow counties and a lot damage in the north west region.

The red warning isn’t kicking in until nearly midnight so you should be ok if travelling back today?

I’m going to have to id say

There are some pretenders out there like Carlow Weather, Louth Weather and Met Eireann.

I wait for the @TreatyStones prediction. Hail hail.

CarlowWeather called this one spectacularly wrong all week, he was very confident it would miss us and down playing the hype.

Meanwhile @BruidheanChaorthainn and I were pouring over charts and re-running the models before determining this would be a very serious storm.
