The Weather Thread

Light dusting of snow here in the lowlands of west Limerick. Starting to edge more towards a sleety rain though.

Bump. Whatever is going on with the weather, it’s a damnsight more interesting than the BDO darts.

Ran a few miles there earlier. Bit of a nightmare. Nearly went over 3 or 4 times. This icy snap is going to cause havoc with people’s new year resolutions.

Would you call it ironic or stupidity the fact that 4000 tonnes of salt is coming in through Ringaskiddy port in Cork yet the Ringaskiddy road to Cork is not salted (apart from the roundabout in Shanbally where there are now salt drifts)?

Craggy Island had nothing on this place.

Its a hash night out.

It would be fairly funny if it crashed alright.
This importing of salt is gas stuff altogether. And we surrounded by a sea of it

Typical Irish response, reactionary, riddled with buffoonery, a complete shambles.

We seek out the buffoonery though - that is our frame of reference. For the management of any crisis that is our automatic intepretation of events.

Ah but we’re great craic

Seeing as you are Irish you would no doubt engage in the same actions.

5 inches of snow forecast for parts of east Leinster tomorrow.

We might get the day off work.

Where did you hear that? I heard 5cm in East Leinster.

From Jugs there 15 minutes ago.

From RTE

Up to 5cm of snow is being forcasted by Met ireann for east Leinster over tonight and tomorrow.

The sky is incredibly clear here tonight. The stars seem way brighter than usual.

That’s all a little bit deep.
