The Weather Thread

The Oirish are pathetic with their weather warnings and hysteria induced panic buys in the shops of bread, milk and of course booze in case they’ll be trapped inside for a few days on account of a bit of -3 weather. They don’t act like this in proper countries like Norway or Sweden.

Very good.

Absolute idiots.
I’ve followed what they do in the nordic countries and have had the snow chains on my tyres since yesterday.

multiple reports of this been downgraded as the sun forces it’s way through in North Kildare as one looks out accross the Rye River that separates it from Co, Meath

How many incidents of severe weather warnings have we had in the last say six months alone from Met Eireann? I reckon three? And all of them ended in a whimper. I don’t much recall such warnings when I was a young fella growing up, maybe once in a blue moon. The Oirish are gone soft.

Can we please keep this thread to technical discussions about weather charts and snowmen?

This place is some joke - I get attacked by a bunch of kids jumping up and down dying for it to snow merely because I suggested it’s not going to snow as much as predicted, then some sad mod comes in issuing a warning – is there anything more pathetic than a boards.ie mod? Highly doubtful…Some fat low life taking his anger out on the world by issuing warnings and bannings - Just as well guns are outlawed in Ireland, these freaks are the types currently carrying out mass shootings in the states.

well in fairness, you were “putting users at risk with your unsubstantiated comments.”

edit. they’ve deleted all reference to you.

I’m abusing the mod via pm now — I’m due to move on to the rugger thread anyway, havent been banned from there sine this time last year.

Not weather related, but I flagged a post made by one of the GAA forum moderators on the Clare GAA thread in the wake of Sunday’s match in Wexford Park. He posted the scurrilous rumour that one of the Wexford management team called Colm Galvin a knacker. That kind of hearsay based character assassination is surely against boards.ie guidelines. I urge all TFK members with accounts on boards to similarly flag the offending post, if they’re not too impacted by the weather. I was shocked.

Link?

i remember in the 80’s
im the oldest of 5 and lot of us in the house all under 10 years of age with the mother in hospital and father out at work one weekend
in and out for buckets of coal in the pitch dark and the border fox out lurking in the fields
you’d walk home from school then in the pissing rain in your duffle coat and a big bag on your back and get a bowl of stew when you came in, no weather warnings then

You’d wonder how the world even turned back then.

Is all ok mate? You’ve spent the last 2 days abusing people on Twitter, and then all morning abusing people on Boards. You’re usually much more reserved than this. Talk to us, we’re here for you.
