Keep well lads. Hope you all survive intact. Last day of summer here incidentally, 29 degrees.
BBq at the weekend?
Its my birthday this weekend so thats a definite possibility as I haven’t had a drink since Jan 8th so I’m getting on it.
We had some great rain though which I’m happy about. Long term forecast isn’t great. Looks like autumn / winter will be dry, again. Last 4 or 5 winters it hasn"t rained. For like 3 months.
I have been busy for the evening and not looked in on weather updates and forecasts.
WTF has happened for Limerick?
XC now shows snow 5am to 9am tomorrow, and freezing temperatures. That will be difficult for driving.
Freezing temperatures all through Thursday and more snow Thursday night/Friday morning.
The freeze nows lasts over the weekend and we get more snow on Tuesday/Wednesday next week.
Surely we cant be facing a week of snow and ice.
Off to boards.ie (never thought I would post that)
@TreatyStones are we done here?
flat calm outside, whatever fell has frozen, looks harmless enough, are we still on high alert?
Transport is fucked for the rest of the week. Met Eireann is on board the blizzard

Today
Heavy snow showers will continue to occur across Leinster and Munster overnight, whilst any showers in the west and north of the country will be lighter and much more scattered. Lowest temperatures of -1 to -5 degrees with a severe frost in easterly winds.
Tomorrow
There will be further heavy snow showers on Wednesday, again most of them falling in the east and south of the country. It will be another cold day with daytime temperatures remaining around freezing and snow accumulating on the ground, despite some bright sunshine at times. Easterly winds will remain strong and gusty
Outlook
There’ll be further snow showers on Wednesday night. All along the east and south coasts will be most affected leading to further accumulations, the showers will drift through the midlands and into western areas at times. Lowest temperatures will be between minus 5 and minus 7 degrees. There will also be a significant wind chill factor, in fresh to strong easterly winds.
Temperatures during the day on Thursday are expected to be between minus 2 and plus 2 degrees. There will be strong and gusty easterly winds which will give a wind chill as low as minus 10 at times. During the day there will be further scattered snow showers, which will become increasingly heavy and frequent.
Later on Thursday evening and in to Thursday night snow will become widespread through the country, with steady falls. Winds will be strong and gusty and temperatures will be down to minus 4 degrees. With the strong winds and persistent falls of snow, accumulations will increase and there’ll be blizzard conditions and drifting likely. Southern coastal areas will also experience high seas.
Present indications are for further falls of heavy snow and windy conditions into Friday. With temperatures staying around freezing, especially over lying snow. Once again there will be an added wind chill factor, making it feel particularly cold, in fresh to strong and gusty easterly winds.
There is a level of uncertainty through the weekend with a complex area of low pressure to the south bringing further spells of wintry precipitation.
I woke up for a piss there (as I do during the night if I’ve a cup of tea the night before after 9pm) and there’s a lot of snow after sticking to the ground in Dublin 2/4. It wasn’t snowing when I went to bed before midnight so a fairly substantial covering in the last 3 hours. I’ll wait until the morning to check work emails to see if the Emergency Committee has issued any directives about working from home.
Are you straddling Dublin 2 and 4 pal?
RIP lads
It’ll be just myself, @Enrique, and @Fitzy left. @Tassotti is gone already, the mainland has been wiped out. Awful way to go all the same.
You forgot @Chucks_Nwoko which to be fair is easily done.
I 'll kill that cunt @Enrique, I’ll gut him like a fish i honour of much loved lapsed poster @chocolatemice
To think this was going to be the year of the Wexford v Limerick final and all.
You can always watch the 96 one on repeat…
I’ll find that too emotional with them all gone
By the way, we won that. Just in case it hasn’t been mentioned on these pages…
