Had a bit last night but nothing at all since daylight in NNWW cork
Snowing very heavily all morning in Waterford.
BBC weather is very good
I’m going to bed now. I look forward to another 400 posts in this thread. Stay safe.
took the dog for a walk, visibility low, winds high
Safely back from my Junior’s (sandwiches) -> Spar (general supplies) -> Lotts & Co (flapjacks and coffee) trip. I bought a few bottles of Guinness Original Extra Stout in Spar as I’d no alcohol in the apartment other than wine. I might chance a couple of bottles during the Arsenal-Manchester City match later, even though I’m not much of a home drinker.
Slippery underfoot conditions in places but the weather generally hasn’t deteriorated to any degree yet in Dublin 2/4. I’ll provide a further update after lunch when I go outside to throw snowballs at people from my balcony.
That’s quite odd mate, very very odd in fact.
The RTÉ news at 1pm has been a bit boring. 1.25pm and we’re still on the weather - it’s not that bad like, but they’ve been popping all around the country so we get to hear Paddy in Tullamore tell Ciarán Mullooley the roads were terrible this morning before they switch to Paschal Sheehy in Cork who hears from Betty who says the roads in Cork were terrible this morning. And so on and so on.
Only for those who won’t fuckin listen to me when I say for the umpteenth time that the snow storm isn’t going to arrive in the Midwest until after dark tonight.
It was much more exciting during Ophelia - snow is not as scary (unless due a baby or have a heart attack) as a full blown hurricane where it creeps slowly towards you.
If the timing as predicted like Storm Ophelia is correct then it’s just a matter of time.
THUNDERSNOW
Snow has eased off totally in dun laoghaire but heavy winds and seas with serious wind chill. Waves coming over the pier
Storm surges expected. I think there is a high tide tonight during storm
RTÉ in fairness have a full compliment of presenters. Ronan Collins made it in while lads like @Brimmer_Bradley slept off a hangover.
Thanks has?
Generation Snowflake innit.
We want our storms NOW.
A few lads from my place are over working in Dublin this week. The office is closed so they are working from the hotel. It’s fascinating for them to see a country grind to a halt.
Plenty of thanks where we are, maybe it’s just you
