This avarage fcukwit just wanted the wages slashed, not the budget.
Then we could re-distrinute the wage savings into services, buy more salt and pay contractors to spread it wlll while maintining the current size of the budgets
While CSO (Chief Salt Officer) is undoubtedly a 365/24 and daunting public sector position, the chances are, that if you were benchmarked today (remember benchmarking) you’d find you are relatively overpaid

actually kc the problem comes from the govt massiveky increasing the amount of people on over 100k in the public sector by over 300% and the knock on effect that had on the wage and pension bill. so while your salt guy is getting 150k per annum and doing fuck all another lad on 30k is actually out on the road gritting it and will pay more percentage wise into his pension and will be worse off after the budget but dont let the facts stand in the way of your opinion as given to you by ajf oreilly and eoghan harris
I find it both an Irish way of thinking and a public service way of thinking, this thing of pointing the finger and going “in other countries” and “in the private sector”. How about you stop this relative thinking and consider the absolutes. Do you think you are underpaid (including your benefits), paid about right or overpaid?
