I’ve been working on putting this together the last few nights. There’s a “mosh set” and a 90s hip-hop set. Everything else will work itself around it. There’ll be very little music from this century.
Throw up your final set list in full
Some last minute suggestions
Living for the City - Stevie Wonder
Psycho Killer - Talking Heads
Blue Monday - New Order
Close to Me - The Cure
Rock the Kasbah - The Clash
Blister in the Sun - Violent Femmes
Hey Boy Hey Girl - Chemical Bros
Most in the bag. Some will be played (definitely The Clash)
That would open me up to too much ridicule
You hoore, you saw through him.
From what I’ve seen of what you posted you will get applaud from anyone with any taste. Do throw it up when you’ve time.
Top tip.
Replace the after dinner mints with yokes.
Play whatever the fuck you like then after that.
ENCORE UNE FOIS
I am in the process of preparing one of these setlists.
The DJ mentioned 30 songs. So I have split the list into 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000+ and other (catch all). 6 groups with 5 songs in each.
70s is the most competitive.
I’m starting this weekend.
I was asked at the weekend to pick a song for when you go into the room for the meal.
It’s the End of the World as we know it (and I feel fine)
Just went with the MacGyver theme tune for that myself. Volume was too low tbh for most folks to cop on.
Made five mixes myself for the meal - everything from Dylan to Eno to Arab Strap. Had them all nicely mixed in advance.
Anyone in their early to mid 30s need to have this!
Was played at my own wedding and I’ll be lashing it on Saturday night.
One of the biggest punk rockers I know surprised everybody when he knew all the words.
The love shack is a little old place where we can get together …
Went with bittersweet symphony. Just about resisted the temptation to hit everyone I passed a belt of a shoulder
Dungeon this shit
