The who is going in to work versus who is (Not)WFH/taking AL tomorrow thread?

Better late than never.

Ah, I think there’s been a mix up so I’ll be getting onto my boss to bust some heads in HR

I’m well aware that I’ve had it comparatively easy work wise during Covid what with being part of the lockdown laptop brigade. We haven’t been forced into work environments that may be unsafe or even lost our jobs etc etc etc. But there are recurring reviews/reports/analyses in my line of work and it’s fairly fucking grim to be starting pieces of work now, the prior year equivalent of which I was working on last March. Almost a full year of this absolute bollox. Deary me.

We have a few calls a week so the team can “touch base”. One poor soul uses it to shoot the breeze for a half hour, when he’s not on the call the meeting is done in ten minutes max. Someone had their dog on the call today and it created havoc and quitened him. A welcome addition to the team.

Shoutout to all of us working weekend emergency coverage for the EMEA IT world this weekend. We’re keeping the show on the road lads.

You’re cleaning up on ‘on-call’ allowances and the phone won’t ring?

Time and a half and the cunts made us fight for it. The fine folks in Switzerland are keeping me and me rudimentary SQL knowledge humble this morning.
