The who is going in to work versus who is (Not)WFH/taking AL tomorrow thread?

No doubt some woke little cunt of a developer will have put non performing WHERE clause into some nested query.

I hear IT wonks have to remove references to ‘slave’ and ‘master’. It’s PC gone mad.

Firewalls and url filters can no longer have blacklists and whitelists

This happened to us. Explainin “allowlisting” instead of whitelisting to a customer with English as third langauge. Utter fucking messing.

Tried to move to a traffic-light inspired greenlist/redlist system but now we have the Apache after us.

Wait till the HSE and Public sector bodies need to get a few more genders added to the drop down lists across all their payroll, HR and CRM systems. The consultants are rubbing their hands. There will be a fortune to be made from woke refactoring.

It’s not just genders either.

If ‘Dr.’ can appear in those drop-down lists with ‘Mr’, ‘Mrs’, ‘Ms’ and ‘Mx’, I can’t see why ‘Snr IT Conslt.’ can’t be included.

If we’re idle for more than 2 minutes it shows up. I invested in one of those desk fans that move so when I’m away for any period of time I tie the mouse to it.

SISK are getting back into the office fit-out market incidentally, they’re not buying in to the WFH dream
