Things I learned today (Part 1)

Not sure about that. I believe there are pictures on the internet that suggest you can

I guess you could be in a part of Clare looking over the water at another part of Clare.

Let me re-phrase, itā€™s surely not visible from a cliff on the coast of North Kerry?

Kilkee is 100% visible from Kerry.

Knockanure (outside Ballybunion) is perfectly visible from the cliffs in kilkee

Friend of yours is he?

God forbid heā€™d know any riff raff.

The summer sun is sinking low behind the field and lea
The pale moon light is shining bright far off beyond Tralee
The dismal stars and the clouds afar are darkening oā€™er the moor
And the Banshee cried when young Dalton died in the Valley of Knockanure

I heard that one before. The Americans had Coke so the Germans came up with Fanta. Full of every chemical under the sun to keep them awake.

Are you a bit old for his books ?

Are u referring to. knockanure church or actual Gort a gleanna ?

No, this fella is absolutely loaded. I thought it a strange and interesting and sad story.
Itā€™s one of the Italian houses in Knutsford if you want to Google them.
Different league to me.
I say colleague as he works in the same place, but only a day a week. The rest of the week he works for his own company.

My sister is in that area professionally. Says he is so despised that people refuse to work with him, that he goes out of his way to be an absolute cunt to who he perceives as his ā€œstaffā€
His books are dreadful in any case. A poor rip off of Roald Dahl.

I wouldnā€™t critique a kids book too harshly, my opinion means little, Walliams sales mean that heā€™s doing a lot right in that department, one of my kids absolutely loves his stuff, that and the Wimpy kid series, as much as I tried none of mine were ever huge into Roald Dahl,

I read the first Harry Potter book to a class once and thought it was garbage, I really like Michael Morporgu myself

I read Matilda to my kids over a few weeks there. They loved it. Listened to charlie and chocolate factory in car and 6 year old loved it. 4 yr old terrified by it

Roald Dahl was a genius.
Philip pullman also.

Itā€™s a funny thing, I never read Roald Dahl as a kid, never even knew he existed to be honest though Iā€™d have seen Willy Wonka plenty of times, Iā€™ve read them all to the kids over the years and find them a bit silly to enjoy myself though I realise that itā€™s not written for me, Iā€™ve always encouraged them to read them because theyā€™re not classics for nothing.
My kids all love Matilda but that could be because of the movie and the fact that itā€™s a little girl, I canā€™t remember any of the other books ever making a big impression, the Walliams books have been more popular with mine.

Jacqueline Wilson would be the most popular among my kids, Morporgu for my own enjoyment
