Good one, Britaindage.
Thank you, Sir.
The Ulterior Motive read the Sunday Times Magazine today.
I did. Interesting aer tickle.
Piece about Liverpool FC academy players in sports section was also good.
My circumstances were precisely the same except I was watching the St Stephens Day edition.
TK Whitaker, the renowned Irish Civil Servant joined the Civil Service at the lowest entry grade for a male - Clerical Officer and remains the only person to have entered the Service at that grade to rise all the way to Secretary General.
Did he go in after the inter cert or what Fagan?
Leaving cert. he wanted to do medicine but the parents couldnât afford it.
Wouldnât happen nowadays. In fact, probably unlikely to see anyone coming in at any entry level grade reaching that far in the future. Did you read that from his biography? Good?
I did glas. Itâs a touch hagiographic but a good read all the same.
I had to look up hagiographic, excellent word Fagan.
Ken Bates set up Irish Trust Bank which collapsed in scandalous fashion in 1976. The Irish taxpayer picked up the tab.
I remember reading that a while back.

Looks like youâve bent your thumb at an uncomfortably acute angle for that grip - signs of pressure on the thumbnail and the taut skin around the knuckle. Why not just let the thumb lie flat along the bottom of the book without the strain of that bend? Were you afraid of obscuring the âNow Updatedâ tagline?
I was Rocko. I wanted to make sure that the full cover was seen. There was no strain put on my thumb but thanks for pointing it out.
Iâd never heard of that word in my life and less than two minutes later I read it in an amazon review.
That the average family in the UK spend ÂŁ2650 on takeaways and ready meals a year.
I wonder what the Irish equivalent is.
